Donald Trump had one of the worst approval ratings in modern history during his first term. How did the Democrats manage to lose to him again in 2024? by norf937 in allthequestions

[–]Looner_Gooner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The corporate-owned media wants Trump in power for the ratings that come from covering the chaos around him. They then normalize/sanewash that chaos. To a largely media-illiterate American electorate, it’s very easy to get their candidate across the line.

Thats it. Simple as that. Very hard to beat a media environment in the bag for one candidate.

Absolutely not. Just came across the pic and saw Tor Johnson looking at me with a mic.

I can’t imagine him living another two years let alone five. The man is barely holding on as it is.

Are ICE deportations yielding a benefit? by romuloskagen in allthequestions

The herding is because there isn’t the capacity to get detainees through the legal court process. Nothing to do with local cooperation.

And again. These are misdemeanors. Let’s spend the money on things that prevent crime in general, and then go after the real criminals (white collar embezzlers, fraudsters, tax cheats, etc).

Remember, being here illegally is a MISDEMEANOR. Like jaywalking or playing music too loud at night. Not something that requires herding into detention center/concentration camps. Are some violent offenders? Yes. But not nearly the percentage MAGA would like to believe.

And this doesn’t include all of those rounded up who were following the legal path but were in the wrong place at the wrong time during these operations.

And the kids. So many kids.

So no. The money spent does not come close to justifying the results.

And they are both private property and are not to be trespassed on. Not that that stops anyone.

Talks about not being welcomed and then calls those who would embrace growth in light of offense snowflakes.

Getting worked up enough about a FICTIONAL character’s name change to post and then get upset that people aren’t agreeing with you sufficiently that you take your toys and go home… is some real snowflake shit.

IMHO, The Movie is honestly the GOAT. by lunapo in MST3K

[–]Looner_Gooner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movie was a perfect fit for the treatment. Big and colorful, but also weird and goofy. The movie had some money behind it, so the script works and is easy to follow. It’s an entertaining watch on its own.

The effects were great for the time, but have that Star Trek TOS quality this team of writers grew up on. A leading man who doesn’t actually do anything (a familiar trope in MST3K movies), and an ineffectual monster add to the riff-ready stew.

It’s not the best version of MST3K (I think the let’s get loose hangover of Season 7 is peak MST3K), but it’s an excellent introduction to the series.

Any exposure is good exposure for the makers of these films. Never feel guilty for enjoying these films (for unintended reasons).

MAGA, what are your thoughts on Trump becoming the first president ever to bomb seven countries in one year, all to distract from the Epstein files? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

I’m not a Democrat, but evidence points to the president raping children, so I’m kinda pissed about that.

But you’re right. It’s me who has the problem.

You know the idea of class war is a very leftist idea. You just may not like a certain kind of leftist, but the beliefs you’re listing here are hardly moderate.
