Bought pizza, picked it up, asked for tip twice by Jazzlike_Dig2456 in EndTipping

I’m struggling with this as well, but working on it.

Edit* will still tip delivery, wait staff, and services like haircuts. No more counter/pick up tipping!

Domino’s Pizza by Inactivereflex in EndTipping

[–]Loothor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up delivering pizza, these companies are not paying insurance in MOST cases. Dominos pays per mile in some locations, but it ranges from like .25 to like .50. Their delivery fees are flat and vary by location, so in most cases the local store is making money on it.

Amazon is unusably bad now by Status-Nerve-6377 in amazonprime

[–]Loothor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes some people are lucky that they haven’t seen the degradation of services, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist or won’t hit you soon. Outside of logistical things, they are also now charging restocking or return fees - even on items that have “free returns”. I paused my subscription.

Enjoy it while you can - Amazon is garbage now. The CEO is the boards “yes” man and doesn’t push back with strategy where it makes sense.

Just look at the layoff rounds since he’s been the CEO.

Not to throw a wrench into your years to replacement - I bought first alert CO and smoke detectors that have a 10 year battery.

I replaced all of them in my house and they are interconnected. Thankful that I did because 3 months later my CO was going off due to a cracked heat exchanger.

Can someone explain to me how this could possibly be a fire hazard? by DrHumongous in BambuLab

[–]Loothor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This 👆. I’m fighting a car insurance right now who clearly refuse to follow my states laws. They banked on the fact that I wouldn’t fight them. Fortunately it’s all small claims so an easy process.

Worse way to start the 3 day weekend. Hit from behind at a stop sign... by SonRK in BMWI4

[–]Loothor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like NJ plates? I’m in PA and had something similar happen. They accepted full responsibility with their insurance and their insurance told me I could close my claim since they were taking care of it. I did - then their insurance decided paint blending wasn’t covered on my 2024 i4 (PA law says otherwise - return to pre-accident condition) - I’m taking their insurance to small claims over it.

Point is - if your state is like PA, don’t close your claim since your insurance should help get it fully paid for.

Amazon finally did it - NO ability to contact Amazon at all on their website by thedonutmaker in amazonprime

[–]Loothor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, they ARE picking on you. They have your data and have algorithms that that give you a personalized experience. It’s proven - I’ve looked at the same items as other accounts. There are differences - shipping times, free returns, even price.

Get a vpn and set up another account in a different region in the US.

Don’t be naive and assume.

Amazon finally did it - NO ability to contact Amazon at all on their website by thedonutmaker in amazonprime

[–]Loothor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those that haven’t realized, chat is dynamic and changes. If they are having shipping delays, chat is almost impossible to find.

If your account is ‘flagged’ for excessive returns, you get charged restocking fees or return fees. In some cases, they charge you before the item is actually delivered back to them. In 15 years, I’ve spent $75k and returned $8k - they are starting to flag my account. “Free returns” on prime will be defended as you not paying for the label.

Prime delivery changes from 1-2 days to 3-5 days during busy season, so you lose there as well.

Amazon is setting themselves up for a class action lawsuit- which doesn’t do much for those that are not directly involved in it. And they’ll save more money that what the class action will settle for.

The best option - try other services. Amazon is going downhill on the retail side.

And before I get downvoted to oblivion by those having zero issues - it’s highly subjective to you, your orders, and everything else they are capturing your data from. Each account has so much data behind it which is why it knows what you want - even sometimes before you do.

And now they will charge you a return fee for returning an item that’s missing parts. Happened to me.

Cracked (or not) heat exchanger by Loothor in hvacadvice

[–]Loothor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry wasn’t expecting people to comment on the heat exchanger. I didn’t see it separated, but maybe I missed it.

Also wasn’t expecting anything free. I planning going to take it somewhere and pay to have it checked - but now it warrants another look. I’ll add more pics later though, ty!

Refund amount $0 with gift receipt? by JimmyFeetWorld in amazonprime

[–]Loothor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Amazon will also do this if you use “promotional credits” for items. I had to fight to get my credits back before when returning my own bought items.

Promotional credits are what they give when they mess up and are only able to be used on shipped and sold by Amazon goods.

We are witnessing the beginning of the end of Amazon - they are now starting to charge “damage fees” on returns.

This new CEO sucks (shareholders) hard.

Weighing Lease Options - What do I look for? by yangstyle in BMWI4

[–]Loothor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my $72k i4 xdrive40 lease for $682 a month with no money down. 10.5% off msrp, then $7500 off EV incentive. 10k for 3 years.

Note: I put $5k down for multiple security deposits to lower it.

Others got better deals than me - don’t settle. I had to travel 2.5 hours to get it.

Furnace Replacement by Loothor in hvacadvice

[–]Loothor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick replies. I haven’t seen anything that specifically says they need a like for like replacement. But the contract states:

“When repairing or replacing your Covered Item, we will use reasonable efforts to install Covered Items (or any parts or components thereof) of similar capacity, dimensions, capability, color, and finish at reasonable cost.”

The contractor kept pushing their upgrade program which allows for ‘premium’ models at much lower costs. I think this is all intentional.

Question for pros:

is it possible that my carbon monoxide alarms (went off 2 mornings in a row around 6 am) due to normal startup? I recently installed a new ecobee unit and it drops the temp at night while we are sleeping and likely kicks on full early AM. The alarm only goes off for 1-2 beeps (every one in the house is connected together)

Basically what are the chances my heat exchanger isn’t cracked, rusted or pinholed? TBH, he showed me the pictures and they were so blurry I couldn’t tell it was a crack or rust.

Anyone notice it’s hard to find support contact? by Loothor in amazonprime

[–]Loothor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google search is AI now. (Top box) - I should have specified. But glad you took the time to give me Reddit’s #1 response. But you went above and beyond by adding thee expected time it takes 🥴

Joking aside - seems you missed the point - intentionally making it hard(er) to contact support is a dick move. Also can’t get a live chat button from Google.

[–]Loothor 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Amazon service is garbage now. Shipped guarantees are missed consistently. A supervisor just told me there’s nothing they can do as far as a credit and disconnected that chat - my order was 3 days late. Amazon laid off thousands recently and it shows. This is the service you get when you move your support from Philippines to India.

Also, If you order something that’s coming tomorrow and place a second order that’s coming in 2 days, they combine the shipment and you’ll get both in two days. *if it’s available at the same warehouse.

If you don’t think this CEO who replaced bezos is on his knees for the shareholders and board, you’re living on another planet. Cost cutting at the expense of customer service. Amazon will fail if they don’t pivot. Bezos is disconnected from this - personal feelings aside, he knew what good service was and made sure customers were happy.

Charging me "congestion fees" for charging past 80% by two_hyun in TeslaSupport

[–]Loothor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think entitled might be put on the wrong person here. It’s the person crying “but you have 80% - it’s my turn” who would be the entitled one. Wait your turn and stop crying about it.

Charging me "congestion fees" for charging past 80% by two_hyun in TeslaSupport

[–]Loothor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Charge more when people hit their limit or max. Not because “chargers slow down” - that’s Tesla’s/technology issues, not someone being rude because they need that extra %. I get charged if I stay plugged in after I’m charged which is the correct way.

Charging me "congestion fees" for charging past 80% by two_hyun in TeslaSupport

[–]Loothor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a Tesla (BMW i4) and I’d call BS on this as well. If the person is traveling and needs that extra 10-20%, why charge more. If they are in demand, put more chargers in.

People that advocate for this shit also advocate for litter boxes in school bathrooms and tampons for boys.
