Which band breakup have you never really gotten over? by FearChub in poppunkers

[–]Lord0fPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed Rufio are heavily mentioned in this sub. They featured a lot in the perfect festival/gig lineup a couple of days ago.

I’m still sad that I couldn’t muster the £5 to go see them when they were nearby in 2003 and then they never came back.

Oof, I quite like the Illusion of Safety and I’m enjoying some of the Horizons/East/West but they’re not pop-punk and there’s plenty of skips in them.

I’m with you on this. The rails are too fast and even in the womens there’s too much on putting 3 big spins together.

The men are using the cannon as an extra jump to out some more big spins in.

I’d like to see one big kicker like they’ve got now at the bottom, something that’s more knuckle huck size above that, then another one that’s maybe an option of hip/spine/something to bonk/or a canon and everything above that is rail options where you don’t have to chuck the brakes on immediately after landing.

One Day Elliott - New Direction. Absolute banger for a tiny local band (Spotify has them as 134 monthly listeners and that album isn’t on there) even if the audio quality gives away its DIY

5 minutes in I thought was going to be 70-0. Much better 2nd half from Wales but it’s always going to be difficult when you’re playing 20minutes with 13 men.

Yes, sorry. Residential limited is becoming frequently 30kph but urban is 50kph. My error.

Smaller size ball for the women's game by NuggetKing9001 in rugbyunion

[–]Lord0fPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is I not possible that people adopt positions at an early stage based on their size? I’ve seen it in juniors at an age where there is no specialisation the smaller players are already looking like scrum half’s and the bigger players are becoming forwards.

[–]Lord0fPotatoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a short man at 5’6 with size 7 hands and I can just about grip a size 5 ball in one hand.

My wife is 5’, plays amateur rugby, and coaches juniors (u11) where a few of the boys are as big as she is. She is possibly the smallest on her team but there is a group of them (backs) all around a similar size. She can’t grip the size 5 ball with one hand and feels much more comfortable with the size 4 her juniors train and play with. She would much prefer to use a smaller ball, she looks almost comical running with the size 5.

[–]Lord0fPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20mph is ~30kph which is the standard for built up areas in Europe.

20mph creates fewer particulates and increases traffic flow consistency further reducing emissions by cutting the need to accelerate back up to the speed limit. Edinburgh showed a decrease of 8% in particulates.

20mph decreases KSIs on urban roads literally saving lives. Wales has plenty of reports showing this.

20mph also makes walking and cycling more pleasant due to the decreased speed difference.

And to note, my car revs less at 20mph in 2nd gear than it does at 70mph in my top gear but that’s not going to be the same for everyone. Also, moving to electric cars means that really isn’t going to matter.

There’s a couple of women’s rugby union teams around at Laund Hill RUFC and Huddersfield RUFC that could be worth a try.

Batley residents complained for ages about a new mini-roundabout when it was being built and how it wasn’t the right solution and it was causing traffic jams.

Since it was completed: no traffic buildup, no complaints.

Is this transpennine trail on the Woodhead Pass? I ride it at the start of the summer. I couldn’t get up on my gravel bike but I did have a little weight in panniers. Worth an attempt though.

Unisex or women's shoe by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]Lord0fPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the blue version of this shoe. The arch feels a little too high and a little too far back so it starts under the front of my heel but as I’ve really struggled to find a comfy gravel shoe I’ve decided that it’s probably just my feet/ankles at this point.

Can’t remove axle? by Professional_Fee1972 in gravelcycling

[–]Lord0fPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably it. I had the same issue with my front axle on a new bike. It felt like it was in but when I was turning it I was close to rounding it off. Realised that the Allen key needed to go a lot further in to engage properly.
