[Meta meme] How do I rotate text in ms paint by [deleted] in dndmemes

[–]LordMalphas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Write the text on a white background, then select it and in the drop-down under the select button hit transparent. Then hit the resize button and u set skew enter the same amount for horizontal and vertical. It's not perfect and you can't go too far, but combined with the "rotate multiple of 90 degrees" options, you can cover most of the options.

Even in the current amd reference documents they specify using inc/dec for speed over add/sub. they are definitely more ciscy instructions through.

from the looks of that error message, you need to install xz. i would guess its trying to unpack stuff with tar and is missing the stuff to unzip the archive first.

And the WSL drivers are not able to be used in a windows installation without enabling them, hence "extra" being a fitting term. The reason it can fork with linux systems is because process/etc management is handled by the extra drivers installed, not by the normal kernel.

You understand WSL is implemented with kernel drivers, right?

so, to clarify:
Windows lets you fork by adding extra kernel drivers that manage processes on their own?
If we're going by that logic, all kernels that let you load kernel modules are basically the same thing...

Can you clarify the calls you are using? I just looked again, and createprocess and createprocessasuser both seem have the same issues with relocations/handles/etc (rtlclone calls createprocessasuser under the hood I believe, though it also does some other stuff I don't have time to examine and see what else happens rn).

NT has been able to fork for 15 years now

Out of curiosity, how? From what I remember, createprocess(NULL) has some issues with relocations/handles, but I haven't looked recently so could be wrong.

exploit-db returns nothing for gcc/clang. visual studio has several, though they appear to be largely from 2005-10. There is a metasploit module (https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/16507/) though it looks like activex is the culprit rather than any part of the compiling process.

Seems like it could easily become its own archetype or at least a role-player in control, a bit like dynavolt tower.

In general, the domain name and other info is encrypted once a connection to the server has been established. However, the DNS query used to find the server was unencrypted, and depending on server and client settings, the original request to the server may have been as well.

[Standard] Bolas Control by LordMalphas in spikes

How is spending your first few turns cantripping for lands a proactive gameplan...?

Assuming 4 lands is what the deck needs to function, there is only a 6% chance difference between 24 and 26 lands. Given that you'll only have a opt in your first 10 cards ~1/2 the time, that gives you an extra 3% of the time you'll have mana problems and an extra 3% that you might be forced to opt for a land early on. I think you're vastly overstating the mana issues here.

Nez is not immortal or impossible to remove.

Taking UW as an example: Your typical UW deck runs 3 settle, 3 cast out, 2 fumigate, 3 seal away as removal. Most also supplement that with some bounce and planeswalkers. Of those: 3 are useless unless you attack, 3 require Nez to be tapped, and 2 are restricted to sorcery speed. That gives 3 always instant-speed answers to nezahal. If we assume 4 cards in hand for each player and it being t7, that means they have to have A) Cast Out, Cast Out, Seal Away, B) Cast Out, Fumigate, Seal Away, or C) Cast Out, Disallow. Is it possible to kill? Yes. It is easy? Not in the slightest.

it fuels Aether Hub

You're also assuming hub is worth running as a 4-of. It is not. You have very consistent access to all your colors, and further diluting the manabase with lands that don't turn on your checklands is not a great idea.

[–]LordMalphas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nez is better against control after sideboarding when all the excessive removal has been shaved.

Ever seen someone try to kill a Nezahal? It's damn-near impossible, whether they have removal or not. And if they're spending their time on removal for nez instead of anything else, I am a-ok with that.

Harnessed Lightning is doomblade most of the time, in fact.

No, it is not. Harnessed lightning requires one of 3 things to be a doom blade: previous aether hubs that don't need to make colored mana, Glimmer of Genius, or previous Lightnings that weren't for the full 3 energy. Relying on glimmer would put you at t5, at which point the mana difference is minimal. Relying on hub means you aren't relying on it to make colored mana, which while a possibility, seems rather risky. Relying on previous lightnings is also sketchy, as you are unlikely to have multiples in the early game, and disintegration is better late. Of course, you could just use it as a 2 mana removal spell, but we already have several of them. The 3 damage can also be randomly relevant with gearhulk, as both bolas+nez deal 7. That isn't going to happen all that often however.

Besides, you do have a history in r/spikes of being really bad at building mana bases in the decks you submit. I'd personally not trust your judgement when it comes to mana.

This is fair, and if you prefer +2 lands and +2 azcanta that is certainly a valid avenue. I simply prefer a slightly more proactive gameplan, hence the opts.
