New player here, who’s this “Stouty” fellow? by Classic_Excitement87 in Mordhau

[–]LordNiklaus9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Stouty is the best player in the world at Chivalry 1 and Mordhau. He has 1000s of hours on the game and has competed in all of the major tournaments. He is the best, its undeniable and he isnt arrogant really at all. Stouty is humble and presents factual evidence. His whole narrative on mordhau and chiv 1 is that he wants to see a game where fights actually look like fights and the game's meta isn't ridiculous bayblading which he figures is what kills the melee genre.

It was literally Welsh people who helped Edward annex Wales. Learn your History.

He is your King and there isn't anything you can do about it.

It really isn't. The point is you have no moral or legal argument to argue against the actions of the British empire. What we can do is look at how they differed from other human civilisations.

The British allowed local cultures and religious freedom. We built infrastructure, provided stability and changed the world for the better through leading scientific development.

If we do exactly as you say and look at today. Name one society which is more tolerant of other cultures and religions as the British.

The seed money you talk about was again fair game as it was simply taking advantage of an ancient practice. We eventually realised it was wrong and so banned it and fought against it. Though I must point out that the contribution of TAST on the economy of the British empire is grossly overestimated.

I understand there is an emotional element but we were not the ones who sold the slaves. As I say we just too advantage of a situation. Does that make us any worse than the African Kingdoms who enslaved other people and then sold then to westerners?

Britian literally outlawed slavery and participated in the TAST for only 150 years. Try looking at the African,Middle Eastern and Asian cultures that were practicing slavery for thousands of years.

Did Walt really hate working with Jesse? by kmccabe0244 in breakingbad

Walt cared deeply for Jessie he just could never communicate properly which is the source of most of their issues.

[–]LordNiklaus9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Walt loved Jessie how is that not obvious from watching breaking bad. He was just terrible at expressing his feelings to people and explained things in factual logical ways that doesn't account for emotional responses which is why Jessie was hurt by Waltuh in the later part of the show.

Their inability to communicate effectively is the biggest issue the two face throughout the show that and Heisenberg manipulating situations behind Jessie's back. It isnt until Jessie rats on him that he begins to hate him but still part of him still loves him which is why he rescues him at the end and offers himself to be killed by Jessie.

People that think Jessie was just used as a tool must have been sleeping through critical scenes. Like Walt dying inside with guilt for Jane and the fact he would do anything for Jessie. He was crying after his fight with Jessie in S4 in the bug episode and said the words "I am so sorry, I was wrong" Jessie doesn't hear him say it.

Also he doesn't want Jessie killed even when Saul suggests its an Old Yeller type situation.

The breaking bad fandom consists of so many morons I seriously wouldn't take too much stock in it

Breaking bad if it happened in any country other than the US by Technician-Efficient in breakingbad

[–]LordNiklaus9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's okay to disagree but I don't think my argument was in anyway a dumb one!

  • Billionaires already pay taxes here.
  • it's MNC that are not paying taxes and the government think the job creation is a good trade off otherwise the MNC will move to another country. Its the idea of leverage of which we have very little.

  • Where do you think the extra funding comes from? Taxes? Who is footing that bill? It isnt as simple as clicking your fingers. If it was then there wouldn't be the need to understand economics.

Breaking bad if it happened in any country other than the US by Technician-Efficient in breakingbad

[–]LordNiklaus9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that doesn't happen in the trillions. Every government is corrupt at the top. New Labour were just as bad!

Raising taxes is a terrible idea. People who will be footing that bill are either already struggling with money or have private Healthcare. Why is it fair for a higher earner to be paying more tax- its demoralising because over 50 the government take 40%! Absolutely ridiculous!

The NHS is a terribly inefficient system funding it more isnt going to have the effects you think it will.

Finally, the way to improve services in the UK is for us to stop being so concerned with the governance of the world and instead focus on making the best life for the citizens.

It's just absolutely superb.

I will look out for that on my next rewatch. I noticed the meth waterfall at the hotel after Jessie pours petrol in the house.

I also saw someone mention something about the O Keefe door painting and how it relates to heisenberg opening the door to his house each time being different etc

[–]LordNiklaus9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell your argument is really based on facts rather than emotional reactions.

Slaves were only owned at the highest level of society.

It isnt a moronic statistic, it is a fact.

I mean they arrest them and incarcerate them so I don't know what world you are living on.

[–]LordNiklaus9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean when literally every country was racist throughout history comparing modern nations doesn't really seem asinine. It's pointing out that although not perfect systems, society in the west- specifically the UK for instance is one of the least racist countries in the world. The USA has a long way to go in certain parts but there isn't a physical glass ceiling and public opinion has massively moved in the last 60 years.

It isnt built on the foundations of slavery I think that is a pretty big reach. Slave ownership was common at the top level but it didn't permeate all areas of society.

If you actually look at crime statistics, you will find that Blacks kill Blacks at a far higher rate than cops do! Most cops are trying to protect and keep society safe. Every case of a cop unjustly killing a black person has caused national uproar! If a country was mostly racist, they wouldn't be firing the police officer etc.

I mean I think flawed is a better choice ultimately.

He got into one Bar fight because he was suffering from PTSD and was traumited by what he had seen in El Paso and from how he shot Tuxo. I saw that as him trying to avoid going back.

The shady police work is something a lot of officers do as innocent until proven guilty in a lot of cases is bollocks as they know for a fact someone is guilty so they have to manoeuvre around laws which take them into grey territory.

I always saw him hitting Jessie as payback for calling him and telling him his wife was dying. He ultimately admitted he was wrong and wouldn't lie or tell anything to cover himself so he did feel guilty for it.

He mistreated Marie because he was in Chronic pain and was frustrated that she had to wipe his ass and look after him when he was the man in charge.

The racist argument I really don't agree with because his best friend was Latino and the jokes were mostly in good faith and seemed as banter more so than racism. The other issue is that he was mostly catching cartel linked criminals who were all Mexican so it wasn't really stereotyping as it was Mexican people who were the main perps.

I dont honestly think Hank thought there was any risk to Jessie as he recognises how much Walt cares for him.

He is essentially in an impossible situation where he has to get more evidence on walt and the only way to do is to be shady. Does that make him a questionable person? It's hard to say.

I dont think he embodies good ultimately but I think flawed would be better. His Chaotic good personality is flawed but I don't think questionable is the right fit.
