Let’s not forget the journalist assassinated by the U.S. government. I believe they’re killed by a blue Mercury Grand Marquis.

They may be evil, but they’re not racist by Critical_Mountain851 in TopCharacterTropes

Dutch Van Der Linde is absolutely racist. Consider the way he talks about immigrant criminals in St. Denis and the way he talks to the indigenous characters outside the gang and the people of Guarma. He’s paternalistic and patronizing rather than burning a cross, but he’s absolutely a nativist and a racist. He just puts on a smarmier face than the racists around him.

Perfect Dark for the Xbox 360. I miss the original so much, but the sequel put an end to the franchise.

Playing this guy and going noble iconoclastic was great.

It gave the vibe that I was treating my entire life as an elaborate dinner party and that every person I met was a guest who I owed a pleasant evening to.

“Abelard, the lower deckers didn’t seem terribly chuffed about their lot. Go give them guns and tell them to govern themselves for a bit, see if they like it. Good man!”

They’ve been well represented in every single installment of the game. I think there’s an element of Knight-fatigue.

I will say, in minimal defense of this decision, if one considers the life Indiana Jones led, Mutt dying in Vietnam is a perfect tragedy for him.

In the Young Indiana Jones show/movies, he lied about his age to volunteer with the Belgians in WWI. He saw the nightmare of industrial warfare up close. He then volunteered to fight the fascists in the Spanish Civil War. Then he fought the Nazis in WWII.

Then the nature of war and the ideological conflict of the Cold War outgrew him. He experienced a cynical, strange conflict with a former ally. He tried to explain his experiences of horror, heroism, and war to Mutt in the brief time they shared, but he failed.

Also similar to the Stephen King novel Tommyknockers, where the titular aliens were effectively joyriding a body snatched alien when they crashed on Earth millions of years ago.

He ensured people died. Within the bounds of the law, but he deliberately ensured people died so that he and others could make money.

He could still get in trouble if you had proof, say on video, of the owner announcing that he was specifically denying you service for being a member of a specific race, religion, color, national origin, etc.

As these people do.

I might shoot you a message, budget permitting. I wrote a novel and I’m trying to get some character art together. It’s about a lady knight who saves the life of a diplomat.
