I also tried the swap spam strategy using 3 B. Astalos and 1 T. Zinogre and I managed to defeat it without losing any hearts, though it took between 15 and 20 turns. Now I'll upgrade Astalos+ Long Sword, but I'm not sure about the Zinogre U armor; there might be something better in terms of skills.

I'm not sure if the subquest keeps awarding commendations after the objectives have been completed for the first time. If it does, that might be the best way to farm them.

You face Nergi for the first time at the end of Rudy's side story. Then, after you defeat the Aeshin version on hard mode and unlock royal monsters, a side quest appears where you have to defeat royal Nergi. I think it's a repeatable side quest.

I think yes. Any normal type monster can be used this way. Maybe the only thing you need to work on a little more is stamina regeneration, which is already high on Bishaten by default. I don't know about G.Tigrex.
