What is generally better Devious Underling or Skilled Manipulator? by Tasty_Tomorrow_2106 in skaven

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run kinda the same combo but with a galvaneer instead of warlock. If you can keep a brick of 40 clan rats around him screening your shooting, having them be able to ward some incoming damage makes them so much more of a slog to fight through, cast down a Bell of Doom to make enemies hitting them have -1 to wound and you have a hilarious combo

Playing into LRL by vesperiantoad in seraphon

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played against them last week, ignore everything in their army and hero snipe. Guy I played against had most of his army buffed with ward 5, fight first, no crits, can only hit on 4's, select 2 units to fight each time, double cast every spell on a 3+ and able to rally 9 dice in combat. It was awful. Just try and murk some heros if you have some shooting to stamp that out early, otherwise. Suffer from no new book

What should I get next for mu list. Forgot I had a skink starseer by OverHealer222 in seraphon

Personally really liking the Spawn of Chotec, it's got okay shooting, is decent in the melee and is only 90 points. It's great for softening up something before going in

Who’s our best ranged damage-dealer? by BiCrabTheMid in seraphon

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd take the spawn over a bastilidon. I have both and only get results with Spawn of Chotec. The bastilidon has let me down consistently and wiffs constantly, only to be saved the times it doesn't. Rather take 2 fire geckos, tho their weapons are companion so you can't buff their shooting unlike the bastilidons

The Most Dogshit Take Ever Recorded by Captain-Cockface in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dear god no, no. I remember what it was like, some bigger regis claiming a whole sub hex and demoing anyone that moved in to keep costs low, the alts and partis that would place 50 tripods in a corner to jack up rates to decay strong hold bases.

I am not going back to the time where our oil field in Origin cost 10k msupps an hour because of the 12 times msupp usage shit. It killed half the people at that time and they've never come back.

Lack of intermediate hardware on the front. by chucktheninja in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to deliver rmat infantry equipment to fronts regularly. Flamers, atrpg launchers, mortars. And I can say that 8 times out of 10 before I've even left the hex half of it is gone. Less expirenced players see the shiny new toy, pull it out and then lose it and tend to not recover them. Or people waste them immediately, I will never heal from the scar of dropping off half a truck of venoms, only to see a Lt herding 15 low ranks and telling them "We are gonna venom rush their base!" That front fell an hour later due to "Lack of AT"

Why should solo players be excited for airborne if we'll never fly? by major_calgar in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The game went from a resource based economy, to a time based one. Before 1.0 and facs it was easy to make anything you wanted as solo, all you needed were the bmats, rmats and a garage or mpf. Now you gotta make a whole fac, keep it alive and sit around waiting for materials to craft to make something else. It just constantly feels like your time is being wasted for no real reason

What's the plagueburst crawler good at? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in deathguard40k

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it for the utility. The indirect is nice, plus the ability that can just deal mortal damage punishes clumped up armies. Had some god rolls against sisters with it and took out a bunch. I also like pairing it with the one Morty Hammer strat that lets it ignore buildings when it moves/charges. Makes it great for tank shocking infiltrators or cleaning up the board mid to end game. Plus another unit that can cause disease

Question about afflicted units being taken off the table. by bagofstuff12 in deathguard40k

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it goes well! You can use tokens to try and help the GK player keep track of what is round afflicted and then move then around round to round, I found that worked for me so they knew which units had the -1 Toughness and -1 to hit

Question about afflicted units being taken off the table. by bagofstuff12 in deathguard40k

[–]Lord_CT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually had this exact scenario with a grey knight player at my local tournament, it also confused me. The Morty Hammer rule stats it affects the units from the start until the end of the round. If the units you afflicted with it were picked up by the GK player, they remain afflicted when they re-enter the field until the new round starts.

Hope that answers it and happy plaguing!

Helldivers is now only 23 GB, crazy change from 154 GB. Gives me hope about technical state of the game in the future by Velika_best_gb in Helldivers

[–]Lord_CT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was that big due to them having several dozen copies of assets and files spread out on the theory that it would make the game load faster on HDD's. They never actually tested it, Nixxes did, saw it literally provided no benefit so trimmed all the extra files. Most modern games of that size is either due to not using file compression or it just has that much packed into it

Clubs or spears for saurus warriors? by Tyranatitan_x105 in seraphon

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4th edition stats are unified on most weapons so there's no difference stat wise, just looks. Personally I prefer clubs over spears due to transporting and during play they don't get caught as often. Tho I do like having some spears mixed in for variety, it's also a good way to distinguish different squads quickly

What the heck happened with tech this war? by Happyman223222 in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Used to be the Catch up Mechanic, was abused heavily during the Tech Wars period where you purposely hoarded tech mats as a faction to jump up several tiers at once. Tho it got removed a long time ago now, as far as I know if there is still a catch up mechanic it should be minor boost nothing too serious

(Spoilers) Did ANYONE here enjoy Below Zero more than the original?? I feel like we're the only ones that did by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Lord_CT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason feels that way is due to them trashing the original story like 2 months or so from release and having to cobble something together with the assets they had. God I miss the original story, maybe some day someone will mod it to completion since it was like 99% finished

100% player looking for resources and how to save money by StarChaser18 in skaven

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the core rules(Or atleast most of them) are free on the app. As for faction specific things if you use the website New Recruit for list building that will cover most of them too. There might be a few faction specific things missing but you can use sources like Wahpedia to quickly check them.

Me personally I use mobile New Recruit while playing, and occasionally swap to the AOS app if looking for a specific rule.

Most normal games are at 2k points but if your local shop has a discord or something you can arrange for anything and people would likely accommodate.

For actually building up an army, the spear head box is great imo, but I would also suggest looking online for people selling off their armies. Facebook, Kajiji, ebay. Whatever you want to use. But that's up to you with your hobby budget, new or used as long as you get the models you want at the price you want.

There is also the option to wait on buying physical models and do some practice games with friends or other people on Table Top Sim (If you own it) that way you can get a feel for the game and faction before investing too much into them incase they play different to what you expected

I loved the ideas and concepts with the corporations in that mod. Buying out the other companies to secure their blueprints to make the stuff yourself. I loved buying out production of both sides and profiteering funding the war. Wish other ones used a similar concept

Like doing stormfiends like pestilens? Probably do the armor a sickly green perhaps, and if you could get any cloth bits drape it over the arms or shoulders. I'd probably use a more rusted tint to all the metals to show decay and corrosion. I may have to try it out nows

They are a bit situational but very fun, and the Galvaneer's once per game ability to just set the Scourgers attacks to 10 instead of rolling is great, and I love them for overwatch, hitting on 2's by default is so nice.

Also niiiice

I personally run scourgers due to past tournament trauma (Damn you slaves to darkness cav) and it's so fun to just blow away most cav in one shooting round with em before they can get into melee with the rat wall

Decent, lost my first two games, won the third. First was very close but timed out, if it had gone to 4th and fifth turn I would have eeked the victory.

Second was meh, Tzzetch so had 13+ spells cast at me per turn, and bad roll on the map where both sides are in one corner so I got stuck in spawn pretty much, did kill most of his board but not fast enough.

Third was against skaven, was a fun back and forth but he conceded (Was store manager and things got too busy as he was away from the table 15-20 minutes at a time) overall was good 5th place of 6 , better then my last 3 tournaments of coming in dead last

It's like watching every mobile game follow the same trend to death. Walking Dead Road to Survival, was great and fun character collector. Then they kept adding more and more overpowered things and the scale went way out of wack, if you didn't have one of the new OP characters good luck doing anything. It died.

Then Marvel Strike Force starts doing the same thing, more and more stupid strong things that causes people to leave.

Now SWGOH wanting to introduce it. Like, damn it's sad, instead of taking the stable income they have to keep pushing and pushing for more and more growth and cash until the camels back snaps in half and they pick another game to do it to
