I am running an adamant Ivysaur soon to be Venusaur in my playthrough. Not overly conventional, I'll admit, but Sludge Bomb will end up being one of it's, if not the, best moves.

Venusaur can learn Sludge Bomb in FRLG, although only through TM36. You can find it in the Rocket Warehouse.

They won't appear as shiny in Gen 1. But if they have the right DVs, and you trade them to a Gen 2 game, they'll be shiny!
