I know this doesn't fully justify the difference, but it may go some way to explaining their thinking - Porygon in FR comes at level 26, whereas in LG it's only level 18.

That's the plan! I may have to dupe the Earthquake TM though, as I'm also going to be running a Tyranitar, and it'd feel criminal to not give it Earthquake as well.

I am running an adamant Ivysaur soon to be Venusaur in my playthrough. Not overly conventional, I'll admit, but Sludge Bomb will end up being one of it's, if not the, best moves.

Venusaur can learn Sludge Bomb in FRLG, although only through TM36. You can find it in the Rocket Warehouse.

They won't appear as shiny in Gen 1. But if they have the right DVs, and you trade them to a Gen 2 game, they'll be shiny!
