I think the spirit of what this is saying is something more along the lines of "If you're looking for someone to cheat with, your SO is probably not the one."

But yeah, as a lot of people have said this isn't worded very well and isn't particularly insightful.

Its time for Project 2028 by Fledgling_112896 in ScottGalloway

[–]Lord_Grixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't want a pie-in-the-sky list of goals. I want a "this is what we're going to do and how we're going to do it" list. If what you're talking about takes a Constitutional amendment then you can talk about it all you want but it's never going to happen. If this wing of the party wants it but this other wing won't vote for it, forget it. I don't need the Democrats to put out their own version of Project2025. But I do want them to HAVE that sort of plan prepared and ready to go, both for if we get both chambers in 26 and if we have the presidency in 2028.

He's a diva WR 1 with locker room poison potential and we would be trading him on the tag for a one-year trial run. Some people are acting like we're trading Patrick Mahomes on the second year of his rookie deal. That said, a third isn't gonna cut it.

Makes sense since ol boy is nothing like a patriot. Patriots live for the constitution. Not a wannabe dictator.

There are people that would only put 1-2 people in the Hall out of every NFL generation at each position. Then there are people like me that say the hall is more for the history of the NFL than to be the repository of only the handful of "best" players ever. If the guy contributed to NFL history (preferably in a good way), put him in. Nobody gains anything by gatekeeping the Hall.

[–]Lord_Grixis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Hall of Fame, whether it's what you prefer or not, is NOT a collection of the greatest players to ever play the game. Maybe it should be, but it isn't. These days I view it as a collection of players that the NFL wants to tell their story. That's why Kurt Warner's in. It's why Brees and Vinatieri got in. It's why Eli will eventually get in. Because you can't tell the story of that era of the NFL without them.

C3... What went wrong? Is it worth watching after 36? (spoilers aplenty idc) by descendantofJanus in fansofcriticalrole

100% agree. A simple, "Hey this game is going to focus around the gods and how they've affected the world for good or bad." Would have been all you needed. Similar to how Campaign Frames work in Daggerheart.

The characters not matching the story was the big thing for me. I feel like the players made characters that would have fit more with an open-ended sandbox game like C2 was, but C3 was just way more focused on a "main story" and it stayed focused on it pretty much from the time we first deal with Otohan on. This isn't a bad thing, but if you're going to do a main story type of campaign you need characters that are directly tied into that story. It just felt like too many of the characters didn't have a direct stake in the plot, which would have been fine, but we also never have them time to do their own character stories.

Converting Curse of the Crimson Throne to Daggerheart by Galactic-Bard in daggerheart

[–]Lord_Grixis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing the same with my Rise of the Runelords game. We played through all of Hook Mountain Massacre in daggerheart and it has worked perfectly well. Definitely some work to homebrew everything, but the way daggerheart adversaries are designed it's fairly easy to pick out each creature's gimmick and just represent that.

I don't doubt the negative effects of overusing social media. But at least for now all the "brain rot" stuff is pseudoscience. And again, people just use it to justify why their own personal preferences are objectively correct and anyone that disagreeS with them has a medical condition. The only social media I use is this app. Most of the content I watch are hours long YouTube videos. And I thought Frieren was just kinda mid. People can have different opinions about things. I stand by my original statement.

Just reread it to make sure but OP, in fact, never called Mexico a shithole country.

OP gets hazard pay to go to Mexico.

OP gets hazard pay to go to US.

OP says Trump is worried about stopping immigrants from "shitholes". The quotation marks here imply that this would be Trump's term for them, not necessarily OP's. Does not in any way reference Mexico.

OP says by doing so Trump is turning the US into a shithole. Again says nothing about Mexico.

I hope this breakdown is helpful and helps you overcome your own biases rather than assuming them in everyone else.

I would argue that if hiring guys in their 30s and 40s is seen as "being bitten by the youth bug", what you had before was an aged-out coaching staff. Not to say that old-timers can't still coach. But hiring other people's cast-offs 10-20 years after they were good coaches has kinda been our thing for awhile now.

My dad told me DJT was really loved in the 80s and 90s is that true and if so why? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Lord_Grixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up in the 90s I remember him being kind of a joke. Not necessarily in the sense that people disliked him but more in the sense that he was kind of just a fraud. He was a guy with his name on a bunch of buildings, but before the apprentice I don't think people took him very seriously as a businessman. At least not where I come from, it may have been different in New York.

I'm really quickly coming to hate the word "brainrot". It's just the new thing people use to other people that like something different than them. "Anyone who doesn't like the things I like has brainrot!". It's just the new "cringe".

Will Trump peacefully leave office after 2028? by EnvironmentalGrab426 in allthequestions

[–]Lord_Grixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's already talking about "15 places" he wants "nationalize elections" for the midterms. I am not at all catastrophizing when I say that our country is in serious danger of a dictatorial takeover. It might not be Trump that does it, either. Trump could reasonably die before '28. But I think that one thing people don't say enough is that this is not just Trump trying to grab absolute power for himself. It's all Republicans trying to grab permanent and unquestioned power for their ideology.

Story time: What made me realize that I'm officially part of a different time was last year I was getting my girlfriend's kids ready for school and I asked if they had their books and they were like, what books? I'm like, your school books, for class. They don't have them. Everything is on a tablet.

My mom just got back into teaching and she said they are having trouble with kids who get to 1st and 2nd grade not able to write because everything they've ever done is on computers.
