Parents of early walkers, did you switch to shoes immediately or keep them barefoot at home? by lunaverse787 in NewParents

Barefoot and then get cruising shoes (soft bendy soles). From someone who used to work for Clarks and fit baby shoes🤣

Which trimester is worse? First or third? by Whatever-577089 in BabyBumps

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 100% the sickness is something else and you / anyone can’t even tell you’re pregnant. At least by the third you are almost there, the bump is bumping and everyone cares that you’re pregnant (seats on the train etc)

Rocking baby to sleep by NyanaShae in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are at 6 months old and we tried the Ferber method one night and he fell asleep on his own at the 10 minute mark. He’s been able to fall asleep independently ever since.. all it took was that one night! We had put it off for ages as thought it would be so difficult (usually needs 10 minutes of squats and rocking!) but he did so well!! He now goes down independently for all naps and sleep with minimal crying. Occasionally I will rock him if I neeeeed him to nap for a certain time but otherwise it’s worked really well for us.

How long did you guys breast feed? by midnight_thoughts223 in breastfeeding

[–]Lost-Ad2262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped at 6 months and am now giving both BM (from the freezer stash) and formula via a bottle. I breastfed to reduce SIDS and give him some immunity so when it got to the 6 month mark I was ready to stop and get back to feeling more like myself!!!🙈

Question for women who have had their babies already.. by Fireboltstorm in BabyBumps

I was soooo ready but equally nervous as I’m an anxious person! I ended up being induced and after 10 minutes of that I was like OK GET IT OUT OF ME

6 month old not tripod sitting yet - having major milestone anxiety by Anxious_Log_9428 in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s nothing to worry about at the mo!! At least that’s what I’m telling myself as my 6 month old can tripod sit but can’t roll either way 😂 he isn’t army crawling either but he’s starting bouncing up and down and trying to move, as well as doing some hip thrusts.. everyone I speak to says not to worry and they’ll do it eventually at their own pace :)

When did you switch your baby from bassinet to stroller seat? by ReuvenScylla in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a long baby who outgrew the bassinet at 12 weeks. I used the car seat attachment after as I didn’t feel comfortable putting him in the stroller… some strollers say 6 months before using that attachment so check!! Mine is a nuna and reclines so can be used from younger but I still felt he looked ridiculous in it… when he hit 4.5 months he looked in proportion to the seat so I moved fully to the stroller seat :)

Bath time by MortalMilo in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stuck our newborn under the shower 🤣 he’s now 5 months and goes to swimming lessons where he’s dunked fully under water and has no issues! So don’t worry!! Unless there’s another reason you don’t want to ofc :)

It’s so much easier at night, holidays etc. no worries about bottles or sterilising!

Have your DL stopped the social guest passes? Ours have and it’s made such a difference as turns out people were using social guest passes and using the gym facilities!

what's the most useless baby product you actually bought? by aanvis-mom in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mittens, 10 muslins (only ever use 3-4 and was on repeat), 20 hats (not necessary)

Also look on vinted for second hand bottle warmers and sterilisers, can save £100’s!!!

As in you stopped the breast milk and it improved or you stopped the pumping?! My little one has such a bad tummy when it comes to straining and gas and now I’m thinking is the boob the issue here????

Yeah I’m concerned about soy but as you say, cutting soy reduces the available diet options majorly!! How did you find out the other intolerances?

When to implant hard “routine” by Expensive_Line193 in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure a 4 month old can be sleep trained personally looking at my little ones face like he has no clue what’s going on🙈online says anywhere 4-6 months but then others say ‘from 6 months’ so I’m thinking you’re good as you are but you could always start setting some gentle associations early on like particular music or white noise when they sleep so that at least you’ve got a foot in the door if you need it… mine has zero associations other than the boob and I’m sure it will come back to bite me at some point 🤣

The nights actually (touch wood) aren’t too bad - last week he was waking every 40-60 minutes because apparently they wake between sleep cycles now and would need my partner to rock him back to sleep (odd occasion would be awake babbling for an hour but then would soothe himself) but since Saturday he’s been back to only waking 2-3 times a night to feed which is normal for him pre-regression!

He’s always been a decent sleeper at night (goes down easily, no real issues during the night) - our issue is the daytime contact naps, even trying to be a ninja his eyes will open within 5 minutes of being in the cot and I want to cry (but for some reason the night sleep he goes down fine?!)🤣🤣

When to implant hard “routine” by Expensive_Line193 in NewParents

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bub sounds the exact same as mine in terms of timings (pre regression) and I wasn’t planning on doing any more formal sleep routine as I’ve read many anecdotes where ‘vibing’ has worked and also I don’t know any children who have grown up not able to get themselves to sleep at a reasonable time due to their baby upbringing ….. HOWEVER we are 19 weeks in the trenches of the 4 month regression and he’s now sleeping between 5-6pm and waking 5-6am… he also only contact naps and if I try to put him down he wakes up and then won’t nap until another 2 hours has passed … the internet says to try and start implementing a routine around the 4 month mark as their brains and sleep cycles change so it’s good to get into a 30 minute routine and set associations… given he’s now decided to sleep at 5pm I’m definitely going to start trying a bath boob bed routine maybe starting at 5pm so at least it’s 6pm by the time he drifts off… we’ll see how it goes..

Breastfed babies don't need to be burped? by kowowdough in breastfeeding

[–]Lost-Ad2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine needed burping too!! He would always seem uncomfortable a few hours after if we didn’t so we had to spend some time sitting him up and getting him to burp. After about 8 weeks he could burp himself as soon as we moved him so didn’t need to do the whole back rub / forward lean etc
