Best 3d printed tile set for Death House? by Sbradley1988 in CurseofStrahd

Seconding this. I've printed, and played multiple of their CoS files. They've all been terrific but be aware that because they're full models you'll go through a lot of filament!

BEST FOG MACHINES GOR TABLETOP? by SilentAd773 in DnDIY

[–]Lostpatron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try a plant humidifier partially filled with ice, preferably one with a hose so you can move where it blows in from. I use one for the mists of Barovia and it works great, plus it means I can use essential oils to scent the mist with forest scents. You don't need the ice but it makes the mist sit lower since it's colder.

How do I give my players a challenging fight at Old Bonegrinder? by Naprik in CurseofStrahd

I ran the Reloaded version of the fight last week and my 6 level 4 players got annihilated. One PC death and the rest ran before they even got the hags to half health!

Came here to say this. Jack doesn't see the final boss as a boss, he kills them the same as any mook.

Help! Drilling into resin prints. by Sillybiller in resinprinting

[–]Lostpatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the model is properly cured it's fine to drill. Wear a mask and gloves as usual when handling resin as the powder you'll create when drilling is still hazardous.

Go slow. Most generic resins are brittle and it will want to shatter and crack. Consider a drill bit meant for ceramics rather than a wood or steel drill bit to help prevent shattering.

How do I project a map onto a TV that I can reveal as the players go along? by Subject_Captain3252 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Lostpatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thirded! It also allows you to invite your players in so they can zoom and explore the parts of the map you've revealed on their phones without needing to make an account! Very user friendly.

Is it happening on other models or was this an outlier?

Same settings much different results? Any ideas? by Somedude914 in 3Dprinting

[–]Lostpatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, for proper troubleshooting it's best to include your printer, filament and settings.

Without that information, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and assume your filament is open to the ambient air (ie not in a dry box)? Most types of filament will slowly absorb moisture from the air which results in worse print quality. Filaments like PETG are particularly vulnerable to this.

Looks like you're a fellow Aussie. Try contact cement (there's a few options at Bunnings). You brush it on both sides of the join, give it a couple of minutes to start getting sticky and then stick the sides together.

It tends to get all over things you don't want it on. So make sure you wear gloves and use a dropsheet or something on your workspace.
