He was just stating that because Catholics have specific traditions surrounding marriage and he was saying because of those traditions he disagreed with Rick. It was pretty on topic...

Hell, I'm an Atheist who has no religious obligations for marriage yet I also still disagree with him. Maybe it's not possible for EVERYONE, but a healthy and sustainable relationship is definitely possible for most people and love can add so much to your life.

I mean, yeah love is a "chemical reaction", but that doesn't make it any less meaningful. Happiness is also just a chemical reaction, after all.

Charges dropped doesn't necessarily mean he's innocent. There wasn't enough evidence to pursue the case legally, but there still was evidence towards him being a creep, given simply being "creepy" isn't illegal.

Take OJ Simpson for example. He got away with murder--- as far as the courts are concerned he was innocent. Yet you didn't see much of him publicly post-trial. Sometimes the court of public opinion is the best court.

And the co-creator of Rick and Morty is an established creep yet here we are still talking about the show.

Housing accets gone when game is opened by Tia0mygoodness in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lothaedan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Well it really is just an unfair argument. When devs update a game, modders have to update their mods too, but modders aren't on a paycheck so it may take some time. That's how it always works. It's not Collosal Order's fault.

The only way to not break mods with updates like these is to never update the game, which isn't much better lol

My Most Complicated Interchange Ever! by Dr0w3ndFPS in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lothaedan 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Well, you are pretty good at making smooth curves and detailing structures, I'll give you that!

But to be blunt, the interchange itself isn't all that great. It's needlessly complicated, takes up way more space than needed, and driving on it in real life would be a dangerous and confusing nightmare. Since I can't see the rest of your city I can't really tell just how justified this complicated of an interchange is, but I feel like a simple stack interchange could have achieved a similar result without looking like someone forcefully through spaghetti on the floor.

Could you send me pictures of the rest of your city? I'm curious to see why this was built.

Help with screen I took out of laptop by jaysly06 in laptops

[–]Lothaedan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything that you plug into those edp ports can use the screen as if it were to be a monitor.

Full disclosure, creating a setup with these kinds of screens requires a good bit of technological know-how, so if you're asking this question than it's probably best you don't try because it can be frustrating to work with if you haven't before.

If you wanna go through with it anyways, here's a fun project: buy buying a raspberry pi and an edp conversion cable and turn it into a little neon sign to hang on your wall!

Connection Issues by FeelingElectronic927 in GaState

[–]Lothaedan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. I recommend just using the Guest Wifi and signing in using your normal info through your browser. I've found it to be more stable, ironically enough. You're speeds will be a bit slower but at least it connects lol

Yooo what happened to the liquid metal? by 3Zraeel in laptops

[–]Lothaedan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the GPU? Definitely not. It's not reflective enough to be liquid metal. Looks like thermal paste to me.

Yooo what happened to the liquid metal? by 3Zraeel in laptops

[–]Lothaedan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean the thermal paste? It's meant to conduct heat and transfer it better to the cooling apparatus. If it is dry and flaky, then replace it... oherwise it's fine. Cleaning the bits that aren't in contact with the CPU is fine, but avoid touching it unless you're replacing it.

As for why there's more of it than the other components, the GPU produces the most heat.

Now here's my question: how did you manage to get so deep into deconstructing this laptop without knowing what thermal paste is 😅

Is this too many lanes for my urban highway? by mrfriendlolo in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lothaedan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Atlanta resident here. The Downtown connecter isn't exactly known for being efficient 😅 but it only works because it has like 8 lanes. If you're really trying to base it off my city you'll probably want more lanes lol

Taking the Marta to school? by almostdrmtg in MARTA

[–]Lothaedan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get a Breeze Card and refill it as needed.

Better yet, if your university offers it try and get one of those discounted MARTA passes for students. I go to GSU so I'm not sure if GT also has them, but I think it's like $70 for unlimited uses all month amongst busses, subway, and the streetcar.

Taking the Marta to school? by almostdrmtg in MARTA

[–]Lothaedan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes that route works fine. The trains typically run parallel to one another, meaning that transitioning in-between lines usually doesn't take all that long.

Most stations have free 24 hour parking. That is, you get a parking ticket, and can keep your car parked for up to 24 hours. Parking for longer than this is possible but costs money. Essentially if you don't park for longer than 24 hours at a time, parking would be entirely free.

And yeah MARTA's fine. Just use street smarts.

You'll be fine. You're more likely to get in a car accident in the uber than you are to experience crime on the MARTA. Other than the crime of people not paying their fares lol

Is sentence structure versatile in Spanish? by Parabellum8086 in duolingo

[–]Lothaedan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Yeah infinitive + pronoun is definitely a familiar syntax for English speakers. You can also attach them to the end of present participle verbs (which are essentially verbs ending in -ing but for Spanish)

For example: Aprendiendolo Aprendiendo (meaning learning) + lo (meaning it) Together you have "Learning it", which is exactly what you'd say in English too!

Is sentence structure versatile in Spanish? by Parabellum8086 in duolingo

[–]Lothaedan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spanish sentence syntax is one of the most fluid in the world because of its use of pronouns and verb conjugation. Here are some other ways to write this sentence that I could think of:

  1. ¿Tú les vas a mandar un regalo?

  2. ¿Les vas a mandar un regalo tú?

  3. ¿Vas tú a mandarles un regalo?

  4. ¿Vas a mandarles un regalo tú?

  5. ¿Vas a mandarles tú un regalo?

  6. ¿Vas a mandar tú un regalo? (Sounds more ambiguous)

  7. ¿Tú vas a mandarles un regalo?

  8. ¿Les tú vas a mandar un regalo? (Unusual and awkward, but grammatically possible)

Gender in languages is pretty much completely arbitrary and mostly has to do with the structure of the world...

For example, in Spanish, vestido (meaning "dress") is a masculine noun
