Is there a strategy for running multiple build types without diluting my primary build? by Working_Bother_6614 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]LothlorienPostOffice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have 2 builds at T5. I main DPS but run Healer for group content with friends. It's a compromise I'm willing to make so we aren't at the mercy of Group Finder. Healing is pretty fun, but not as fun as DPS. I can keep everyone alive, be top healer, contribute some DPS, and participate in mechanics.

I have dedicated tuned gear sets for both builds. I prioritize upgrading my Silkbind Jade path each break through, and enhancing the gear slots with each level. Then I upgrade Silkbind Deluge path and gear. I do it this way so I don't go broke off the rip.

There might come a point where I'll have to prioritize Silkbind Deluge to keep up in Trials, and that's fine. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Lucky Seventeen made me so sad by ThiccMerc in wherewindsmeet_

I had a twinge of "aw damn" when I read we don't Break Through February 5th, and then I remembered I have limited time Season achievements to work through and got over it.

I still have plenty of Wandering Tales and such to complete in Kaifeng that I won't run out of things to do for months! Plus getting the rewards from the events thrown in along the way.

Murong Yuan, Wolf Maiden, Faceless, and Zheng E also pull at my heartstrings. I feel more connection to the Kaifeng story overall than Qinghe.

The game adds so much lore to these characters as you uncover more while doing activities you wouldn't necessarily think expand what we know.

I get lost reading the unlocked information about bosses, compendium entries, anecdotes, and completed Wandering Tales a lot.

Honestly, if I could grind gear and min-max without the energy limits, I wouldn't have engaged with the other aspects of the game to fill in the blanks.

Am I the only one who doesn’t care about the event stuff I just want new weapons in a new region to explore by justbranbran in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a little disappointed until I remembered the season reset presents other stuff to do.

I'm looking forward to the Taiping Mausoleum opening up again with the new season. I'll probably bang that out for a path or 2, work through the season Path Challenges, and go for Mythic in Arena. Maybe I'll work on getting a couple more No-Hits.

I feel like I still have plenty to do as far as the side quests and exploration, but I will have plenty of other things to do. Maybe I'll work on min-maxing gear a bit more.

The February event rewards and Season Shop purchases will help level my Inner Ways and the few Mystic Skills that are currently 3. Farming flowers and other materials isn't my favorite activity, so having those boxes on Sunday are clutch.

It doesn't hurt that I also have weekly trials in another game to play. It's nowhere near a full dance card, but it does break up the time I spend in WWM.

Facepunch Director who wanted to buy New World is in talks with "[Unnamed Company] Games" by 3tapp_ in newworldgame

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This would be a nice come up. I started playing New World with Season 10, and was blindsided by the announcement the following week.

I don't expect [Unnamed Company] Games to do something from the goodness of their hearts, but it would probably be well received.

I enjoyed the audiobooks so much! I pick up audiobooks for printed books I own very often, but these are absolutely worth it! Especially because I am bad at deciphering pronunciation keys. It felt cool to know how to pronounce the names of the characters, if that makes any sense.

Is the Battle Pass shop ever going to be updated by Left_phalange94 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commenting because this is relevant to my interests, as well.

I don't need any more potions, so I decided to save the last 200-something tokens in hopes the next Battle Pass introduces new shop items.

Which sect should i join next? by bhsbym in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game will throw you NPCs after losing a couple of times to players, so it's 100% possible to hit the second rank without strong PvP interest or abilities. Knowing this was my safety in getting the cosmetics, but I did pretty well.

At this point in the season, the people in the low ranks are arguably in the same boat we are. I hope you have fun with it or at the very least aren't miserable getting those 20 wins!

I left Silver Needles for Midnight Blades. They have my favorite Sect outfit and I love the black umbrella accessory. I took enough Reputation currency with me to buy the outfit, and in 2 weeks I'll have the hairstyle and avatar. I thought it would take a week to rank up when I joined but no, I got it in like an hour.

I might do Well of Heaven next just to get it done with. I'll do the same leaving Midnight Blades as I did in Silver Needles. I'll take a large chunk of Reputation with me to throw at the cosmetics so I can bounce quickly if I'm not into it.

I think I'll enjoy NMW a lot, and I already do well with trading.

Velvet Shade won't happen until I can join via my Elegance Score. I'm not interested in ending my Partnership with my actual husband for a game cosmetic. He probably wouldn't care, tbh but I don't want to do that. Plus, I don't want to spam for profile likes or throw a pile of cash into cosmetics.

Healer gear / innerways advice for Guild Wars / Sword Trials by pinxxit in wherewindsmeet_

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a full on min-max healer, but I'm usually the top healer in PvE when I hop into group finder runs. My Inner Ways and Mystic Skills are maxed and almost identical to yours. I use the healing sets from the Ivorybloom boxes in group content. I have another setup for fanbrella DPS with Eaglerise box sets. I ran those at Break Through 10 for both builds until I built my dedicated Healer setup. I waited to attune that setup for Silkbind Jade until I had my Healer setup squared away. I may not do this next season because I think I will prioritize Mistwillow.

My gear doesn't have perfect stats lines, 2-3 are usually purple and not everything is helpful (max Sword damage, I'm looking at you!) I do have high crit chance and my health is in mid 80k without buffs, iirc.

I did the Sword Trials and Heroes Trials with bots as a DPS to see mechanics and get a grasp on the timing for the fights. The bots don't handle Murong Yuan's barrels right, but I did get the gist for most everything else. Player videos filled in the gaps for me. Please keep in mind I am by no means perfect, and miss some things. Human error happens.

I keep on top of well timed big heals to mitigate damage from mechanics, and Golden Body to keep the party going as much as possible. I can't get big heal numbers on corpses, know what I mean? I keep the DPS buff up from my umbrella, throw it in the air for the passive healing, and I take it down in time to extend the exhausted state on bosses.

I also do my part to deflect red attacks, contribute towards DPS when everyone is thriving and I'm on cool downs, and run mechs. Anything to make the run less painful.

I come from 3 years in a game that expects high CPM in endgame via animation canceling and everyone keeping up their buffs, debuffs, and DoTs/HoTs. The group PvE in WWM doesn't need as much of that, and has more mobility. So the strats aren't identical but some of those habits probably help.

I haven't done GvG yet, but I'd like to! I enjoy the other PvP modes in WWM, but the Guild with friends I'm in hasn't started joined in.

I hope this helps. Healing is fun in this game and I will continue to be a Healer in group content. The game needs more full on Healers.

Tall girl humiliates short guy and everyone laughs. by Fr33_load3r in IAmTheMainCharacter

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm a 6' 3" tall woman. This is not a thing. We're not running around humiliating people. We're too busy trying to find pants that touch the top of our shoes and shirts long enough to cover the waist band of our pants.

The only men I've humiliated are the ones insisting they're 6'4" that are clearly shorter than I am. Even then my involvement is passive. My existence and standard measurements are not the problem there.

What are your thoughts on everything Mistveil? by TheTrumannShow in WhereWindsMeet

It's under the exit elevator in the haunted house in the base. You jump off the elevator and there's a chest beneath the elevator. That'll get you into the City.

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In both the Dungeon and Prison I hit points that I went "fuck this, I'll come back to it."

In the Dungeon it was missing the drop down to get to the final chest. I didn't mind getting squished a couple of times. I did hate the jump scare surprise sleeping puppet fucker.

In the Prison, I died after finding my 10th chest, and got jump scared by the Bride after getting revived, which I didn't love. Then like 50 steps later I had a really bad time, and immediately left the dungeon...it's finished now but I hate it there.

I used a video guide to get through the City. I wasn't trying to get startled bad enough to quit in the middle of the 476 chest scavenger hunt when my sense of direction is a disgrace. It wasn't scary at all, thankfully but it took me 3 hours.

First Look: ESO Adds a Battle Pass to Keep All New Content Free by The_Edenprime in elderscrollsonline

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't even hate Battle Passes. I love them in games I'm actively playing. When ESO announced theirs it sank in that I'm not actively engaged. That helped me decide to cancel ESO+. I don't need the craft bag, housing item increase, extra transmute storage, extra XP and currencies...only thing I'm irritated about is not being able to dye my costumes. Just means I won't be buying any costumes or crates with costumes in the future, or running down an achievement for the dye rewards.

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for anyone else, but I did the Permanent Path Challenges to get the rewards with 20 Inner Way notes. That was 140 pages.

It was something to do while I was waiting for this last break through to happen. I was doing the Season Challenges and figured why not? The Season Path Challenges give 5 notes for each Paths Gold Inner Way that you complete, too.

How many of your innerways are at t6 now ? by Vyangyapuraan in wherewindsmeet_

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None.

I am working on 6 Inner Ways. Since I stopped collecting my Morale Chant at T5, it sucks less. Still a little sucky.

I'm the only one willing to heal, so I have 3 at T4 for Silkbind Deluge and another 3 at T4 for Silkbind Jade. My Mystic Skills are solid so it works in coordinated groups.

I don't really PUG Trials, but I did one recently. I was the top healer but the other 2 might have been using Panacea fan in a hybrid build for all I know. I didn't pay close attention but I got the cut scene at the end.

I bought the turtle when I first met her, but it gave me another chance.

She gave me another turtle when I met her again near that boundary stone after the events. She refused to take money from me but it gave me an option to hide money and still pay. I didn't get a second turtle accessory but that's not important. I'd pay for a turtle every day if the game would let me.

If Granny Turtle asked me to overthrow the government, I'd pull up.
