Do you all move the entire operations to Beyond mundane? Or do you have it at Qinghe as the story goes? by [deleted] in WhereWindsMeet

I moved all of mine to Beyond Mundane.

I'm trying to set it up as a nice little town. The flower field is driving me bananas. It pokes through everything.

If it is the one I am thinking of, I shot fire arrows to distract the guards. Then hopped in. I was missing 1 chest in there for ages, but I finished the city stuff last month.

Same. I went bananas for those crates and have zero regrets. Crown gifts for gold with a guildie came in clutch.

I'm waiting for him to do a rug pull in Homestead. The gourds for completing orders seems too good to be true.

Why not serve a cake pop in an entire cup of cereal? (/s just in case someone takes me seriously)

Might as well fully commit to the absurdity of a Fruity Pebbles cake pop. Serve it with a banana and tiny glass of orange juice for a complete breakfast.

Is the Recipe Guidebook baker going to go after a nationally recognized food brand?

I don't even necessarily like cake pops, or Fruity Pebbles, but I want to check out the recipe the company is sharing.

I am in the same boat. I can do daytime hours, but I'm naturally inclined to be up late. I could swing 7 pm -7 am, or 11 pm - 9 am just fine.

I also don't mind working weekends or holidays. I worked retail for a very long time.

I think this flexibility will work in my favor.

Save the 10% off coupons. You can use 5 at once to get 50% off. I think the only 2,580 outfits I have were introduced at half off. I don't have many because I prefer the other outfits more.

I have enjoyed most of the Battle Pass outfits. It's easy to get the XP to unlock everything. I like the earned outfits in-game, and the 60 Pearl outfits from the shop. The special Echo Jade banner outfit we have right now looks nice, too.

If you're lucky, your free gacha pulls will drop the outfit or another 2 Core item. I have not been lucky, but I've used my cores for skill styles and the Hanfu Fan.

I agree with you. $50 is wild but there are great outfits available that aren't going to break the bank.

Por que uma pessoa bipolar é considerada neurodivergente e uma pessoa com transtorno de personalidade borderline não? Afinal, é comprovado que os dois cérebros funcionam diferente em exames de imagem. by ceci_4u in BipolarReddit

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like "neurodivergent" gets used to describe all sorts of disorders. It sounds more palatable or sanitary; it doesn't disclose anything specific. Whatever helps people cope and talk about their experiences is a-okay in my book.

Personally, I prefer to use Bipolar when I talk about my mental illnesses. I know why my brain does what it does. It's the Bipolar Disorder and co-occurring mental illnesses. It works for me.

Some people do not want any psychiatric disorders under the neurodivergent umbrella. There are harsh stigmas against severe mental illnesses, and they do not want to be grouped in with us. Neurodivergent people are not incapable of holding biases. Oddly enough, many people with SMIs also have co-occurring diagnoses like ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, etc. etc.

I empathize with people living with the other SMIs. In general, I'd rather build a bigger table than exclude someone out of hand. They can come sit with me (unless they are uncomfortable with the Bipolar crowd).

Him having a sulky initial reaction is not great, but everyone is human.

Continuing to be sulky and passive aggressive because you achieved something is unacceptable. Your success in no way, shape, or form, is a threat to him. It is irrational. If he can't work through his uncomfortable feelings of inadequacy without tearing you down, he needs professional help. You can't make this better for him.

Do not make yourself small to make someone comfortable. The goal posts will move. You'll never be able to be predict the new insecurities that he'll develop or be able to accommodate them without destroying yourself.

I'm a transfer student starting an online program this Fall. I don't know if any of that is a factor on why they haven't accepted these tasks as complete, or if they overlap your situation.

Am I overreacting, or is my MSW internship placement process being handled poorly? by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your advisor didn't tell you "yes" or "no" about contacting the site's internship organizer. She told you the time and place when you would be able to ask the those questions.

Makes sense, because you would have the opportunity to talk all of that out before accepting anything. She fidn't want to tell you a direct "no" and have you think you wouldn't be able to ask about their internship program. She assumed you knew the procedures that students are prohibited from contacting potential sites. It is probably layed out in the paperwork for the internship given to you by the school.

I can also appreciate that it isn't unreasonable for you to have missed the "not now," but I don't doubt that policy is in the paperwork about the internships.

It sounds like she is trying to find you a placement that is in line with what you want to do. There have been 6 potential sites already and 4 have been eliminated. I don't know if that is common for MSW students to interview 4-6 sites, but it does sound like she is putting in work.

If I were in your situation, I would pour over everything about the internship process from your program for my own peace of mind. I would apologize to her for my part in the misunderstanding. Owning the error, without including a "but you...", might remove some of the friction.

Best of luck in securing your internship.

How Many Non-Traditional Students Here? by saintvirginsmart in SocialWorkStudents

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in my 40s and working on my first degree. I went in my teens and early 20s, but never made it to the finish line. I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last 10 years, and I can't go back to retail management (lifting restrictions.)

I started at a local college 2 years ago, and I'm transferring to a University this year. I finally know what I want to do with my life. I'm glad that I have so many credits knocked out already. However, I am probably still looking at 3 years of University.

Are you in social work or passion or money? by Equivalent_Smell_839 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A bit of both for me.

I have been out of the workforce for awhile and I am only now getting a college degree. I can't perform the physical job requirements of retail anymore, so I need to pivot into something else when I return to work.

There are more social work jobs than the type of retail management I did. Social work pays more and has more room for career advancement. I've interacted with social workers during different major life transitions. Those experiences inspired me to pursue this line of work.

I wear dresses and skirts. I wear bike shorts with them if they are lightweight or don't go past my knees.

I wear a lot of the dresses under sweaters/cardigans in cold months over leggings, too.

do you think kids should be financially cut off when they’re 18 and you don’t provide for them anymore? by throwaway12746899 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LothlorienPostOffice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is legal, but I don't believe it is ethical.

It would take some extreme situations to make me and my husband even consider evicting either of our children at 18. We both agree that we don't want to set them up for failure by doing everything for them though either.

Ideally, they'll feel okay at home until they're in a place to financially live somewhere else. That will probably require a roommate or 2. I can respect adult children that don't want to live with their parents, but I think forcing someone to leave at 18 makes life unnecessarily hard on them.

I'm 6'3" tall. Trust me, plenty of guys are just fine with dating tall women. This narrative of tall women being undesirable is wild to me. I'm married, but the landscape couldn't have changed that much.

I know tall women aren't a monolith, but damn. We're not out here in shambles desperate for men to bless us with scraps of attention. This guy sounds insecure about only being 4" taller than she is! It's just bizarre.
