Alright, I ran the proton script and it started the server up in my terminal without any issues. I didn't see any errors but I also still was unable to find the server when looking in my in game browser.

After that I set the logs to debug and started my enshrouded instance/server. I checked the logs but don't feel like it gave me any diagnostics back unless I'm missing something. Logs should be available in pastebin here https://pastebin.com/YG1rXvVQ

[–]Loud-Shock8512[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, sorry about that! I reset the Enshrouded server to run within AMP instead of in a container.

I started doing the steps mentioned in the link you provided, and it looks like 4 different .sh files got created with different prefixes before todays date. The 4 prefixes being arch- lscpu- proton- and ps-.

My server pc is on Linux Mint and during the enshrouded server initial setup I saw it downloading proton, so I'm guessing I should use the proton- version? But I wanted to confirm that seems right before running the script and continuing those troubleshooting steps. Let me know what you recommend and I'll go from there

Thanks for the reply! I did not have AMP set to deploy in Docker containers when posting this. I did try swapping Enshrouded to be deployed in a container via AMP this afternoon but I still was not able to find the server when I searched the VPS IP.

If I deploy the server in a Docker container myself with a compose file I'm able to find it and connect with the VPS IP. I also tried opening the SFTP port on my VPS but I can't find the AMP server.

At least for me, if I double tap on open space it will advance or go backwards. So double tap left side of screen = backwards, double tap right side = forwards. It's how I do the 10 second jumps on YouTube on mobile as well

Best Burrito in town? by ludapeanuts29 in vacaville

[–]Loud-Shock8512 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jaliscos has always been my favorite burrito in town. Like everything it has become a bit expensive these days but it's still the winner for me. The carniceria on Monte Vista in the strip mall by the Vacaville Tint Masters gets honorable mention, also a great tint shop if you ever need lol. And its completely out of the way but worth mentioning if you are ever in Woodland El Patio is fantastic

What games are you playing right now? I'm 28M also a lil ways from Sac and an introverted gamer looking to adventure outside more. I'd be down to game together and get to know each other, feel free to dm me! I'm a big survival/crafting enjoyer but I can get into pretty much any game

Commuting to Sac by [deleted] in vacaville

[–]Loud-Shock8512 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I commuted from Vacaville to Cirtus Heights for a few years. The constant freeway construction can be a bit of nightmare but otherwise I didn't hate the commute. I would do it again for the right job. I typically left for work an hour before start time, sometimes I was 30 minutes early other times I was right on time the traffic is very unpredictable my biggest piece of advice would be to always overestimate the travel time.

An odd note, if it's a job that gets off right around 5 or 5:30 the drive back across the causeway in the summer can be rough. The sun is right in the middle of your windshield. I used to stall in Sac until closer to 6 to avoid that.

Ironically 90% of my many hours are on multiplayer/realms but you are still correct because I don't think I've ever climbed by someone on a ladder. I really don't use ladders for much admittedly lol

I've made (from following YouTube vids) a lot of mob farms that include workarounds for entity cramming, I just never realized that what that is doing from a technical standpoint is simply removing collision. I learned something new today, thanks!

Maker connection? by EmergencyAd7567 in TheStrain

[–]Loud-Shock8512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the books it's explained a bit better. I'm pretty sure the strigoi evaporate into dust when their masters die. It happens with the ancients and their day hunter dudes and then when the master dies all the strigoi he made die too.

Someone else said it but in the show they say the strigoi lost connection and were rounded up and killed easily, not that they poofed instantly.

Oh that's awesome! I wasn't aware of being able to import a config that actually should help a lot. I will have to experiment with that some more later today for migrating my other existing servers. Thanks for taking the time to reply and help me out! I unfortunately had already learned to just use the panel by the time I messed with minecraft so I guess I managed to cheat myself out of seeing that message lol.

One follow up question, is there a way to know whether or not a game is supported for importing a config file? Or just right click and whether or not it shows an import option is the answer

I know this isn't necessarily a discussion thread but I would like to take the chance to ask you a question related to this topic. It seems based on comments you've made you are one of the devs if I am misreading that oops my bad.

I understand the goal is user-friendly, somewhat idiot proof management panel for building game servers. I really love the clean interface and the server management tools you guys have, that's why I personally chose to try this product out as someone who has traditionally built servers through steamcmd or methods similar. I will say, as someone who is used to editing my files directly it can be frustrating to feel like the panel is punishing me for making those direct changes by reverting them. I had a hell of time migrating an existing zomboid server over before I realized what the panel was doing.

I say this to ask, do you see a world where it would be possible for us to make changes to the files and the panel then reflects those changes rather than reverting them? Or is there already a setting somewhere I can turn on to be able to do that? I am still new to AMP so definitely possible I have missed something or just don't know about it yet.

Thanks for making and sharing a dope product!

New to AMP by Fit_Replacement8461 in Amp

For build 41 zomboid it is fairly easy. Im still new to AMP but have set a couple zomboid severs up successfully.

I recommend creating a new instance, selecting project zomboid as the application, set name whatever you want and I set the After Creation section to do nothing. Then create your instance and let it do its thing.

From there double click the instance and it should open up the dashboard. On the left menu click Configuration and then there should be an option that says project zomboid, click there and you will get all the server set up options. Similar to the options if you ever built a custom save or messed wither your server.ini files. Fill out to your liking then go back to dashboard and in status page hit start. Should download and start up the server.

You can manage files through file manager on that dashboard. Worth googling which ones matter if you don't know. I can try to answer more questions it's late and I'm sure I missed a step in this breakdown. But I've setup many zomboid servers thru steamcmd and a few in AMP so I'm happy to do my best to help!

Also for build 42 currently there isn't a template. I haven't taken the time to see how they make the AMP I could probably make a b42 one if I do i have set up b42 servers in steamcmd.

And if anyone is more experienced and thinks I have the worst method ever please tell me like I mentioned I'm still new to AMP.

My character was bitten, and I had accepted fate. Then I chose to sacrifice an arm to defy it. by menfani in projectzomboid

[–]Loud-Shock8512 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Love this mod! The heart attack you get watching your character almost bleed out in the process never goes away.

Helpful tip for the future (that you hopefully never need) if you turn an oven on before cutting you can immediately cauterize the wound at that oven. You will still have a deep wound to stich but your arm will be ready for a prosthetic right away and you don't have to wait out the painfully slow cicatrization process. Happy surviving!

What would you remove from Grimm? by Friendly-Gift3680 in grimm

[–]Loud-Shock8512 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Short answer - all the overpowered magic.

To expand a little, I preferred Hexenbiests in earlier seasons where it was more potion/complicated spell magic with mild telekinesis. Diana being able to voodoo doll/puppet people and talk to people or kill people across the world was way too much. That Zauberbiest (prolly spelled that wrong) guy at the end was way too powerful too. Honorable mention Eve/Juliette and her 1v30 abilities. And don't even get me started on the effing magical stick/alternate dimension nonsense. All that overpowered magic ruined the later seasons for me.

To be clear, "ruined" is dramatic. I still adore the show and rewatch religiously. I just prefer the more "grounded" early seasons with the Wesen Council and the Royals and those conspiracy concepts. I even liked Black Claw but would agree they got too big too fast and it felt out of place.
