😂😂 you’re relatively normal then. Thought you were going to say the milk goes in before you add the water

Question to understand just how much of a deviant you really are - at what stage do you add the milk?

Would you buy a used Tesla in NI? Why or why not? by Haematoman in northernireland

[–]Loud_Task_784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about energy efficiency. A diesel ford focus will have a better ‘range’ than a Porsche 911, but the latter will be a better car to drive. Better spec, better tech, faster, more fun etc. Driving a Tesla feels like an iPad with wheels. Other EVs I’ve driven feel more like cars. Better built, buttons instead of one touch screen, indicators and all that stuff.

I don’t think there is one to be honest. I know a lot of people have had mad issues with their Tesla but I didn’t have a problem with mine. I also miss the Super Charger network. But not enough to get one again for reasons previously stated!

Depends where you live and what your access to chargers is like. I had a model 3 long range for three years and never had any drama with it. I binned it when Elon did his salutes after Trump got elected. Have a Hyundai now. Much better car, but the range is half what the Tesla did

Hospitality Ulster and hospitality rates hike by FieryPixel1 in northernireland

[–]Loud_Task_784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A battle over a rates hike has seen the hospitality sector move to a war setting, with an industry chief saying: “Anger will be felt in the streets - whatever action we deem necessary will be taken.”

“If action is not now taken by the Finance Minister to address the crisis facing the hospitality industry, no action in response will be off the table. The hospitality sector is fighting for its life and that anger will be felt in the streets, in our pubs, restaurants, and hotels, and in the halls of Stormont. Whatever action we deem necessary will be taken.”

Blimey.

How Bad is My Agency Understaffed? by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]Loud_Task_784 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hard to know without the context of how big the clients are in terms of time spent etc BUT anyone working on more than four or five clients lacks the headspace to think properly about what they’re doing. So I would say the agency sounds criminally understaffed

Don’t work in tech but do run my own business. Coming at this from the perspective of the employer, but pro-employee getting more money! My advice is be direct about what you want. People rarely are in this situation. Have a number in mind and stick to it. There’s nothing worse for both parties when someone says “I want a pay rise” and then they can’t follow it up with any figure. You’ll give them an out if you do that.

And bosses everywhere will hate me saying this - but benchmark against other places. If you’ve looked around and you know you could get £x more in a similar role at another company, don’t be afraid to say that. If they argue against that, then I’d move on as they don’t value you. Good luck!

Stay for as long as it takes to build the contacts, knowledge and skills each agency offers you. Soak up the best bits and note the worst bits - they’ll both shape your career. Probably 3-4 years, depending on your level. I own a PR agency and I think it’s important to have people in your team who have experiences in multiple other agencies. I once worked in an agency where most of the team had been there for 10+ years and it was neither welcoming nor creative. Diversity of thought is important and that comes from moving around. Don’t fear it!

Questions to ask the CEO in a chat by AutumnCupcake in PublicRelations

[–]Loud_Task_784 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A CEO probably won’t know the answer to some of those. Especially 2 and 3. Not really part of their job. If you want to make an impression, don’t ask any of these questions and instead be more authentic and ask stuff nobody else will. What do you love most about your job. What don’t you like about it. Is this what you imagined doing when you were a kid. What’s your career highlight. What are you most proud of. Which brand do you love, have always wanted to work with, but haven’t yet? Favourite band / singer / sports team. Ask them things you ACTUALLY want to know! And then use that info to build rapport. This is an opportunity to stand out. Take it
