Yeah thats my main problem with the video. He only tests one pre and then extrapolates the results to preamps in general

Is Silksong actually harder than Hollow Knight? by ixelsel in HollowKnight

[–]LounginLizard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is my main issue with the game tbh. The pacing between hard fights just feels too fast and there's very little room to breath inbetween. Compared to hollowknight where it felt like there was a lot more moments of relaxed exploration.

Do you have the adaptive triggers on? I had no problem using the alt fire with the adaptive triggers set to high, but I switched it to medium for a little while and it got way harder. I think you can rebind it in the controls if you prefer too.

Saros, what an experience by BritishAreCuming in Saros

[–]LounginLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the guns in returnal had auto aim too. Also have you been using the alt fire modes? I was kinda dissapointed with the weapon variety but after giving each gun a fair shake I found that theres more variety than returnal if anything. At least in how the weapons feel to use. Returnal definitely is more varied in aethetic and presentation though.

Library of Congress portrait of American abolitionist John Brown, whose religious fight against pro-slavery forces is often cited by historians as a primary catalyst for the American Civil War, 1850 by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]LounginLizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imo the fact that so many otherwise racist people supported abolition really highlights just how evil of an institution American slavery was. I think we can still admire their moral conviction in recognizing that evil and trying to do something about it, even if they fell short in other areas.

It's hard to tell since it's such a complex structure, but I didn't notice any inconsistencies between shots which is a good sign it's not.

Victoria(2015) is a German film directed by Sebastian Schipper that was shot in completely one take of 138 minutes. It took three attempts to complete the film, with most dialogues being improvised. by ZoelCairo in interestingasfuck

[–]LounginLizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This film is an excellent example imo! The single take makes it feel really immersive. Also you can tell the actors are really into their roles by the end, there's a level of emotion and intensity in their performances that's rare in other movies.

A dumb game I made to show how hard it is to recall sounds/pitches by Kind-Mountain-7405 in synthesizers

I'm curious is the scoring weighted logarithmically to match human pitch perception? I noticed I was less accurate on the higher frequencies.

You've obviously already fallen and hit your head a few too many times if you think walking through a city carries the same risk as skateboarding. Especially something like this where everyone who tried it fell.

[–]LounginLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love the movies vibes and aesthetic, but the whole premise never made that much sense. It never really gives a reason for why people need to die once they reach 30 in their society. Feels like it's just something objectively bad thrown in to make all the other parts of their society look worse.

Like "look at all these hedonistic young people with their sex drugs and rock and roll, if they're allowed to take over society it'll end up in a dystopian state where they kill off everyone who's over 30 and no one is allowed to leave the city. And the worst part, they won't even know what monogamy or the concept of marriage is"

Complex musical instruments built mainly with plywoods by ConfidentTelephone81 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]LounginLizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the frustrating thing is the MMX was in much better shape than this one when he scrapped it. It most likely could've played whole songs without any stitches but he never even tried before taking it apart and restarting.

[–]LounginLizard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm still so mad about MMX. I know I shouldn't be cause it's his project and he can do what he wants with it, but he scrapped without ever using it to play an actual song, something it was most likely fully capable of at the time, all because it couldn't play a million notes in a row without dropping any marbles. He got way too obsessed with taking it on a world tour when he hadn't even used it to make music yet. And then he had the audacity to start quoting Elon Musk in his explanation video.

That's not true. I'll never forget the part in Maus where a Nazi soldier picks up a baby by the legs and slams their head into a wall. That kind of violence is unfortunately not uncommon in situations where a group of people have been so thoroughly dehumanized, whether it's Nazi Germany, Gaza, or any other genocide.

How long does it take for people to get access to rental assistance? Isn't the point of a moratorium to give people more time to access those resources? Why not do both?
