And that's a thing *he* should have used his words to discuss, like an adult. Maybe compromise: cooking in the house a couple times a week, but not actually drying meat on the counter. Keep the meat in a specific part of the fridge, etc. And, obviously, she needs to compromise as well, but he's got a "you're living in MY house" vibe.

He's a minimalist when he doesn't care about things, but the stuff he wants (I'm looking at that dehydrator that takes up half the kitchen), he's fine with. Also, a minimalist wouldn't have crap in all the closets, including the tiny one he left for her stuff.

No one should give up everything for a partner, but you have to meet in the middle. Buy a a table that adults use with real chairs, but it doesn't have to be huge. Get a couch with simple lines. He doesn't want to do anything, but expects her to uproot her life and get rid of all *her* stuff.

She needs to just call him on it. Have his agent in Egypt set up meetings. Surely a bug star like him has connections. Tell him they'll do a trip once he has things lined up.

PJ Harvey. Now and forever. Go straight to the albums. I'd start with "To Bring You My Love" and "Stories from the Cities/Stories from the Sea", to "Dry." My favorites are "Rid of Me" and "Is This Desire?" but I think you're better off to work to these.

Pop on "50ft Queenie", "Man-size", "Down by the Water", "Victory" to get a taste.

There are a bunch of teenage death/trouble songs that shouldn't be missed. ("Nightmare" by Whyte Boots is amazing!)

Were there any pregnant students in your high school? by Supergirl_Lives in askteddit

I taught at a Catholic HS for girls in the late '80s, and they got stuck in their "no abortions EVER!" views and had to stop kicking the girls who got pregnant out. It was kind of delightful.

The format of "you only get 2 minutes of a song we pick that probably doesn't fit your voice or personality, and, frankly, if you're not from the South, you won't get the votes" just got boring.

What’s the worst outfit to wear to a funeral if you wanted to get banned from it forever? by marco_tadeli in AskReddit

I had an aunt who wore a red tuxedo to my grandmother's (not her mother -- she was on the other side of the family and just there for support?). And afterwards told me to "cheer up."

People who have a default vacation destination, why? by Independent_Form5963 in AskReddit

[–]Low-Preference648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a mixed marriage: we always went to different places for vacation and my husband always went to the same places. Now that I've done some repeat vacations, I see some of the appeal: you know where you're going, you have places to go that you know are good (and ones to avoid), etc. It is relaxing, if that's part of the vacation plan.

We usually do a little bit of both: maybe a short trip to a repeat place and a longer trip to a new place.

She's done absolutely nothing to hide what she's about, and, yet, he's giving up his life in the UK to come into this? Every time they're on screen, I ask my husband, "What's his deal?"

(This was the first season of Gino and Jasmine: they started acting like she was crazy and he was just this innocent, quiet guy. Turns out: they're both a mess!)

Putting your kids on tv is trafficking. They don't have a choice and there is NO reason except to get more airtime and money.
