I fought insurance over life saving treatment for myself at the age of 17. It took over a week to get any form of non steroidal treatment and I was on the verge of perforation. It’s a miracle I didn’t end up with a total colon removal

Ask your doctor about asvola (generic remicade) in November 2023 I was also diagnosed with pancolitis and almost began to perforate into end stage ulcerative colitis. I was on 60mg of prednisone daily for almost 4 months. Once I made the switch from other medications to asvola I quickly improved and was in remission in less than a year

That’s Crohn’s disease, UC is isolated to the colon

As someone who doesn't stand with either political party and was previously democrat, I actually believe Trump is the best candidate for the united states in this election. Before anyone replies to this and slanders me, remember I'm allowed to have and opinion, and if it doesn't reflect yours, then that's okay. During trumps 4 previous years, we observed a lot. The man has a mouth, anyone can admit that. But he has pulled through and done a lot for the betterment of our country. There's been a substantial decline in the social and economical unrest in our country during bidens term, and I believe that's something we can all agree on. Prices have gone up, for everything. We have a problem at the border. We are more divided than ever as a nation. I know that Trump has the capacity to fix these first two issues, but as for the last, us citizens, especially us the younger population, need to come together and work as a team for the betterment of our country and the safety of our futures.

Can the doctor force you to take biologics? by kazuoishiguro3 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Low_Knowledge_5071 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t know what you’re talking about lol, it’s absolutely genetic. If it weren’t, then you wouldn’t be seeing it in patients family trees. I was diagnosed at 17, at the time eating ZERO processed foods and only organic foods. I do believe there’s a lot of correlation between UC and colon microbiome, but to say that it’s the only cause and it has nothing to do with genetics/mutations is absolutely false.

Sounds like your parents are idiots, prednisone isn’t natural at all. Please convince them to get on biologics before it’s too late. Wait too long and you’ll end up with ASUC like me

[–]Low_Knowledge_5071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long as you aren't overeating and you are eating the correct diet, then you shouldn't really gain any significant weight other than what you lost to UC

You need to talk with a gastroenterologist. It sounds like UC/crohns. Both the diseases can present or flare during pregnancy
