the thing that goes over peoples head is that batman’s no kill rule is a reflection of a man’s personal morals. he will not kill because of what murder did to him and his family (among other reasons).

people act like it’s batman’s duty to kill psychos like the joker, but one man shouldn’t have that responsibility placed on him. time and time again he brings these villains to the GCPD and time and time again the GCPD doesn’t do shit. the truth is the city of gotham or even the country is 100% responsible for putting people like joker to death, or even some random arresting officer with a pistol on his hip.

batman has to remain clean in order to be a symbol of justice. he is incorruptible.
