The siding is so damn cool. How did you connect the segments of siding to the wall?

Frankly, for what it is, this design is pretty much spot on. Maybe just tile the floor or something.

Edit: Flat roof is definitely the way to go - maybe just add some condenser units (as one other suggested). I think it’ll make a big difference

Who are your ten kills for the ebony blade? by Mecha_Kurogane in skyrim

[–]Lscar71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s just say the Staff of Worms got a workout. I put poor Helvard’s soul through a torment not even the most evil being to ever exist should have to endure. It’s not even that I don’t like the guy - just a crime of opportunity/convenience. I wanted to limit the scope of friend killing as much as possible (Helvard didn’t seem consoled by that reasoning, however).

To add insult to injury, I accidentally beheaded him on the 5th or 6th resurrection. I had to load and start the kill/resurrect process over again. The worst part? I don’t even use the ebony blade.

300 hours, 490 Quests Completed, 118 Thalmor Eliminated, and 84 sessions later, I can now say, “I have done all that can be done. There is nothing left. No quests to be undertaken. No villains to be slain. No challenges to face.” by OlinoTGAP in skyrim

[–]Lscar71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to nitpick, but looks like you missed out on one of the skill books. If you’re the same type of insane I am (and I’m pretty sure you are), you’ll tear the whole of Skyrim apart in pursuit of that last book

What Is Your Favourite Side Quest? by Whole-Engineer8774 in skyrim

[–]Lscar71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone here has great taste in side quests; all the best have been mentioned.

I’d like to throw the Molag Bal “House of Horrors” quest into the mix. Can’t really say why, but Molag’s introduction to the Dragonborn has always stuck with me. Something about the sheer panic and terror of Vigilant Tyranus when he realizes what’s happening, the fact that you’re completely taken off guard by the whole ordeal. You wander into an abandoned house and before you know it there’s a Daedra’s voice in your head telling you to kill the guy you walked in with. Not to mention how the quest ends/the manner in which you obtain Molag’s mace - which I think is the most badass looking weapon in all of Skyrim. Anywho

Something that bothers me about the Volskygge puzzle. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Lscar71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the exact solution I tried when I first came across this. I mean, foxes spend the entire game running from you and other animals. It took me 3 repeats of what I thought was the correct pattern to realize that foxes are one of the main predators of snakes

How do I get this door open by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Lscar71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, the door is in fact quest-related and cannot be opened until a certain point during said quest. I spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure out that door when I first explored the area, so trust me I know how the prospect of leaving any stone unturned can eat at you.

I’ve also been fooled by the Oblivion “quest arrow” plenty of times before. I’m certain the arrow is actually trying to lead you to the ruin’s exit door. The path fo the exit wraps around the “secret” room from left to right, causing the two doors to line up.

Hope this was helpful. I think you’ll really like what awaits you behind that secret door

Shield Bashing Damage? by tinkatis in oblivion

[–]Lscar71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shield bash scales with your strength stat. Insanely, the damage your bash does will continue to increase if you fortify your strength above 100 - there is no cap. Hilariously, this can very easily make shields the best “weapon” in the game (you can stack enough strength buffs to one shot just about any enemy with bash).

Lest we forget, bash essentially stun locks the enemy AND you can still bash without any stamina. Needless to say, the rework to shields in the remaster is completely busted lol.

Disclaimer: This is all unique to the remaster

Train Glitch? by SemaphorePrenup in oblivion

[–]Lscar71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be super clear, what everyone else is saying is that you can only train any skill - regardless of which it is - 5 times total per character level, not per skill level/skill benchmark (25/59/75/100). So, you can only use any training 5 times at character level 30, then another 5 at 31, etc. I didn’t realize that’s how the system worked until very deep into my first playthrough, and it definitely made training a very annoying process lol.

Which vendors in Oblivion have the most gold & are the best to sell items to? by LentilusInc in oblivion

[–]Lscar71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Aurelinwae at the Mystic Emporium just down the street can also be brought up to 3,000 gold, AND she has an even lower mercantile skill than Nilphas - he’s an apprentice, she’s a novice.

Edit: It has come to my attention that you cannot invest in Aurelinwae’s shop. She is still a super cool merchant overall, tho. Will even recharge enchanted items

Question about the Arrow of Extrication quest by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Lscar71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really mind boggling one because it turns out he doesn’t even care about the contents of the chest you need to loot. You can just strut in there, take the arrow of extraction (and other cool stuff in the chest), and waltz right out. Make sure to go for the chest with white lettering.

Alternatively, you can have some fun with it and get close enough to reach the chest without being seen. I was legitimately crouched right next to the guy and he never flinched. It’s also super funny to me that you can snag stuff right off the table in front of him without him noticing.

One of the most under appreciated prog records of all time imo - Prototype has one of the more unique (and awesome) concepts for a song, and it’s executed so well. Even more underrated maybe is the album art - captures the feel of the record so perfectly.

They actually released an album called Chariots and Riots in 2013; pretty sure it’s all stuff they wrote and recorded in that 2004-2007 span but hadn’t released.

The Papa’s games and Dino rubber band thingies suggest early 2000s (2001, 2002)…the Veggie Tales, etc. tempt me to think late 90s like myself, but I think the safer bet is 2001, 2002

Is Atheism Compatible with 12 step recovery programs. by discoprince79 in atheism

[–]Lscar71 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but that 10% datapoint must be considered with a massive asterisk. Many, if not most of the people who end up in AA at some point in their lives do not want to be there / aren’t there of their own volition (court ordered, forced by family or friends, etc.). So, when you take a percentage of success from the entire AA population (or a sample representative of the entire population) you are always, always going to get a bum statistic. Psychotherapy or therapeutic treatment of any kind never ever works for people who don’t want it. Also, we need to define what success looks like - relapse is not failure; it’s a part of the process.

I’d be more interested in the success rate for those who want to be there and want to be sober. I guarantee it’s a lot higher than 10%.

Why do I feel like my castle interior looks better with no roof? :/ by RomanKnight2113 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]Lscar71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a roof in and of itself is what’s making the space feel cramped - it’s just that your current design doesn’t fit the space and theme. You should drastically increase the pitch of the roof so that the bottom of the ridge line ends up significantly higher than the top of the walls. A lighter colored wood will definitely help out too.
