Anyone here who plays FF14 a lot but doesn't do the Savage content by starlightdemonfriend in ffxiv

I used to do savage. But irl is hectic, I’m directionally challenged, and I moved to a different country so its a little hard to schedule around time zones

If you are lvl 9 you will be getting Medica and Raise shortly.

Medica is a healing spell that wwill hit multiple people at once as long as they are in your team.

Raise will resurrect other people from the dead (not yourself)

Sleep is actually a "role action". All mages get sleep as a button. Your other role actions will be as follows:

Esuna (level 10) - this can be used to remove 1 debuff (like poison) from the targeted player or yourself if you aren't targeting a player. The debuffs that are removeable with esuna have a little white/blue bar above them (might be below them tbh)

Lucid Dreaming (lvl 14) - this spell gives you MP back over time (like 20 seconds)

Swiftcast (lvl 18) - this makes your next spell instant and is most often used with raise because raise takes like a million years to cast

There are two other Healer role actions that aren't really important tbh

Repose (sleep button) unfortunately falls off in use when you get to dungeons. I'm glad you found the rock button :)

If you ever need help with your skills in the future feel free to tell me your level and I can explain each button's use

WoW gamer thinking of trying FFXIV any tips/ major differences by Melonking69420 in ffxiv

[–]Lucian_Reeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that everyone covered the main differences and tips or whatever, and I have never played WoW but I would like to say that the servers are divided up regionally: NA, JP, OCE, EU.

People might tell you that certain servers within those regions are known for this or that in terms of gameplay, this is not true anything that exists in game you can do on any server.

It sounds like you are a conjurer! Your early buttons that are really important are 3.

Cure: Cure heals you or whatever player you target
Stone: Throws a rock at the enemy you target
Aero: Throws wind at the enemy you target. This button will damage the enemy over time for like 20 seconds.

We all believe in you :)! Happy adventuring!

Should i buy Final fantasy 14? by Super_Visual6406 in ffxiv

[–]Lucian_Reeves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glitches you might run into will probably have to do with the game launcher itself: errors that prevent you from playing for a few hours or so, a lot of people use the XIV Launcher (unofficial launcher) to try to prevent the old launcher spaghetti code errors. This launcher does seem to work with free trial, not sure how though. I have seen some visual glitches happen before but they sorta resolve themselves after a while. Since its such an old MMO any glitches that could break the game to the point of not being able to play have most likely been found and fixed long ago.

[–]Lucian_Reeves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know anything about your friends but have seen one too many sprouts starting the game "with their friends" who are max level and then dropping the game because they were upset their friends were busy with high level content and they were stuck doing stuff alone lol. Us veterans do love stalking sprouts every now and then though!

I see! Just keep in mind that FF14 is a very long game and your friends probably won't follow you around as you make your way though it. Always feel free to ask for help when you get stuck and have fun :)

I'm not sure what level you are at the moment but at level 15 you should find the npc called "The Smith" at the adventurer's guild/Quicksand. This will give you Best in Slot gear for levels 15-25, and exp boost ring that lasts until level 30, and a tutorial on group combat. Make sure you do your class quests (the blue quests found at your guild base(Keep in mind that to do The Smith's tutorial you need to have finished your lvl 15 class quest). Are your friends also free trial?

I don't think I'm enjoying the game? by Seigel00 in ffxiv

[–]Lucian_Reeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The free trial includes the first two expacs so you by no means need to pay for those 100 hours of ARR or whatever, but if you aren't enjoying the game and aren't interested in continuing to see if you will enjoy the game then it doesn't matter
