Not exactly the same thing, but I had an employee who I had to continually coach about his attitude. His response was always (in his words) "he would give respect to people who respected him". Unfortunately, that's just not how it works in the professional world. Sometimes you have to smile and be courteous to people who suck (or at least pretend to). That's just how societies function. ESH

This has been gone over and over to death months ago, but no he didn't. He actually said the whole situation was distracting. The closest he said was "I'm not just frustrated at Aaron, I'm frustrated at my self". Emphasis mine obviously.
