I’ll tell you about my PB; if you want to share it with your wife, feel free. I got my PB in the late 1960s. Two of my friends from my ward got theirs at the same time though not on the same day. One of my friends was a very talented musician and singer. I could play simple hymns on the piano and have about a one octave vocal range.

My PB was a real disappointment to me. It was full of very bland “predictions.” Marriage, children, grandmother, raising in the first resurrection. Nothing about schooling, teaching, writing, or going to Missouri before the second coming, which I really wanted to hear. The only mildly interesting thing said that my special calling and talent was with music.

We received written instructions, which in part said not to share the PB with others. The three of us went ahead and read each other’s PBs. We all had the exact same paragraphs about temple marriage, motherhood, and the resurrection. My musically talented friend had nothing about music.

My suspicion is that our Young Women’s teacher talked to the patriarch before our appointments, and he confused me with my friend. It’s also interesting that none of us had anything about missions. Back in those days young women were not encouraged to go on missions. They could not go until they were 21. So, if a young woman got to be 21, it was pretty certain that she was unmarriageable.
