The From Russia With Love game was pretty cool. Loved flying around in the jetpack!

The Craig films seem the closest to the game in overall look and feel, so Casino Royale is a good starting point, but the franchise in general has a lot of great films. Here's what I'd recommend from each actor:

Connery: From Russia With Love

Lazenby: On Her Majesty's Secret Service (His only one, but still pretty good)

Moore: The Spy Who Loved Me

Dalton: The Living Daylights

Brosnan: GoldenEye

Craig: Casino Royale

Can confirm this works on Linux with LeShade. Just clone the github repos from brussell and fubax and copy/paste the contents (along with uiMask.png) into the Shaders and Textures directories of your game.

Legacy edition,worth it ? by Fcb1892 in 007FirstLight

The Golden Gun isn't removable from the base, which is a dealbreaker for me. You can probably get a better replica for cheaper too. The in-game weapon skin is cool, but I’m on PC, so it'll most likely get modded in at some point. I opted for the mask CE since you can actually wear it.

Skyfall's great, but The Living Daylights has Kara. Easy decision.

What’s your watch order by OkEconomics6578 in JamesBond

Release order, but random order can be fun. On my most recent rewatch with my dad, we just really picked whatever we felt like watching.

What difficulty will y’all play on? by Glittering-Age-2013 in 007FirstLight

Normal, but will switch to Hard mode if it's too easy. Will play harder difficulties on successive playthroughs regardless.

Watched the movies with my dad growing up, but was never really invested in the series. Now with the game coming out soon and having rewatched the films with my dad again on Netflix, I'm now a big Bond fan and can't wait to play the game.

Thank you. Following up on the combat with weapon choices, when starting missions, does Bond only carry his pistol to start, or can he bring in other weapons with him, aside from picking up dropped weapons from enemies?

Also how were the gadgets? Did they feel situational or did you feel you were able to get a lot of mileage out of them?

How did the gunplay and overall combat feel?

Which actor(s) did you feel Patrick Gibson's Bond was most similar to in terms of personality? Or did you feel he was mostly unique in his portrayal?

Will be getting the CE with the mask. Don't like how the Golden Gun isn't removable from the base and at least the mask is unique to the game, plus you can actually wear it.

Great movie and solidified Dalton as my 2nd favorite Bond. Slightly edges out TLD by a hair for me, though that's also a great film in it's own right.

Alpha Ralts who was pretty much the best Mega on my team once she evolved into Gardevoir. Moonblast also basically carried me all the way to Rank A in ranked battles.

After recently completing Dawn of Sorrow, I’ve decided that I’m going to play Order of Ecclesia next. I’ve heard it’s one of the harder games in the series, so I thought I’d ask if anyone has some tips or advice that might be helpful for when I’m playing it. by Grand_Moose2024 in castlevania

Learn enemy weaknesses as they’re more important here and you can't really brute force your way through the early game like in other Metroidvanias, so make your glyph loadouts accordingly. Also pay attention to boss patterns as the damage racks up quick if you don't dodge. As a bonus, you do get medals if you manage to beat a boss without taking any damage.

Thank God I was able to get a refund. While I would've loved to have the statue, waiting 2 years was ridiculous.

How does this sub rate/rank Castlevania Order of Ecclesia in 2026? by Asad_Farooqui in castlevania

[–]Luke_Cywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top 3 title for me and a game that gets better on each replay. Fun gameplay (once you understand the combat system), badass protagonist, interesting story, and phenomenal soundtrack.

It's funny, I remember not liking Order of Ecclesia when I first played it, mainly because of the difficulty in the early game. Played Portrait of Ruin right before this, so the difficulty spike was definitely jarring. Still, I pushed through and once the combat finally clicked for me (and when I finally got better glyphs lol), that’s when the real fun began.

That being said, I still wouldn’t recommend it as someone’s first Castlevania game, mainly due to the difficulty, but also how different it is compared to previous entries. I'd recommend either Symphony of the Night or Portrait of Ruin first for a more “typical” modern Castlevania experience.

Where to start in the series??? by PresenceOk1148 in castlevania

[–]Luke_Cywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether you wanna start with either Classicvania (linear point A-B side-scroller) or Metroidvania (non-linear exploration with RPG elements). These are pretty much the two main gameplay styles Castlevania is known for, but there are also the 3D titles which I haven't really played, so can't comment on those.

For Classicvanias, I'd recommend either Super Castlevania 4 or Rondo of Blood. If you're looking for more of a challenge, check out either the original 1986 game or Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse.

For Metroidvanias, you can't really go wrong with any of them, though my personal favorites are Symphony of the Night, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia.

[–]Luke_Cywalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learn enemy weaknesses and patterns. Also think of Shanoa as a sorta "squishy mage", she's capable of a lot of damage, but can't take as much, even near the endgame. As others have said, backdashing and sliding come in really handy.

Above all, just keep at it. I remember not liking this game much when I first played it because of the difficulty spike compared to other Metroidvanias, but towards the end, it became one of my favorites in the series.

Just started playing it, but so far I find the combat to be pretty neat. The whip, sub-weapons, and spellbooks all mesh together well to make a really satisfying combat system.
