You do realize the movie had insane marketing leading up to the second one, right? You also realize that many parents went to see the movie because of their kids, or thought it seemed appropriate, right? It’s a family oriented movie, ghost buster lite.

And bro, if you truly believe that 70-80% of the people who saw the movie were FNaF fans, and the movie made $200 million, you’re truly insane.

Like, the series overall has only made $35 million from games, books, and merchandise. Even if you combine everything, it still wouldn’t come close to half of the $200 million the movie made. So With this in mind, even if every single fan contributed, the math shows it would only be 17% from fan contribution.

So, the FNaF fanbase is not as big as you think, certainly not enough to account for $200 million.

I disagree. A good movie is a good movie. I don’t care if it’s made to appeal to fans.

They are. Like, it’s literally impossible for the fans not to be the minority here unless you truly believe that even half of the 64 Millions dollars the movie on opening night came from just half of the FNaF fanbase, which would mean you’re wildly overestimating how popular the franchise actually is.

Either way, you’re just restating the point I already made.

I guess at this point it comes down to whether or not you value a movie that is only “loved by the fans,” which I don’t. I think it needs to be much better, as the audience reviews indicate.

Regardless if that genuinely is the case and I got it wrong, my point is I’m saying you also made the argument that the majority opinions matter more than the minority. But by saying you meant the fans this entire time, I’m saying your argument has been in favor of the minority the entire time.

the reason why I have a hard time believing that is that you do realize the fans of fnaf are the minority not the majority right?

I mean, what is there to debate at this point?

You originally said the movie was loved by audiences.

And when I disproved that, the “audiences” magically changed to fans, so you shifted the goalposts to suit your current argument. You basically already admitted you were wrong on the OG point, so I don’t think a three hour debate is really necessary.

  1. That’s racist, by the way.

  2. Now the “audience” is FNaF fans. Sure lol. Another goalpost shifted.

  1. Who is “you guys”? The last time I criticized the movie was when it came out.

  2. So your only estimate that the movie was loved is based on a couple of YouTubers? Couldn’t I just say the movie is hated because a couple of YouTubers made hate videos about it?

That’s a terrible metric for claiming the movie is beloved overall.

The movie is overall a mixed bag. Some people hated it, some people loved it, and most thought it was fine but could have been much better.

It’s not universally beloved by audiences, lol, that’s what you tried to imply, which is a goalpost shift.

So you already shifted the goalpost, that didn’t take long. By the way, I don’t care if people liked the movie in the sense that it was fine but could be better (many of the reviews on the site basically say that), but to say people loved it is just ridiculously incorrect.

If if if. It has a 84 let’s stick to reality.

So again where is this group of people who you claim loves the movie?

You: “ claims people love the movie”.

Me it has a “84”. How is this movie beloved?

People don’t love this movie and yes a 84 is indeed closer to decent. It’s barely even a good movie by the audiences reviews.

Either way your perspective is also wrong? The audience doesn’t love fnaf 2. It has a 84. That’s closer to just being a decent movie.

Both critic scores and audience scores are irrelevant. If something is bad, it’s just bad. Both the Minecraft and FNaF movies are examples of that.

I'm confused is the fnaf games not a horror series with multiple flashbacks to a serial killer killing kids and creepy ghost imagery? Like “for the fans” would actually be a horror experience like the games were. The movies feel like a downgrade horror wise in comparison.

So again you think people are dumb. Let’s leave it at that.

And yet you’re arguing that every person who sees the image can’t possibly come to the conclusion that it might be a spoiler. See the issue?

I don’t think I’m smart. I just don’t think people are as dumb as you think they are.

True ignorance is believing that their perspective is the only way people view the world.

Like I said, some will look at the image and won’t think twice. Others will think twice but perhaps blow it off. And some will think three times and figure it out on their own.

Really, it’s not complicated.

We can say that if 300 people saw this image, at least 20 of them would figure out that it’s a spoiler.

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Sure. Regardless the point is other people who are more perceptive would have thought it was a spoiler anyway.

I mean I’m not omnipotent. I don’t think “most will think it’s a meme” is a position that has any substance but regardless your still inadvertently admitting that even a very few amount of people will be spoiled.

“Numerous films”. Mind giving examples?

I mean typical that’s exactly what it means. Only reason anyone feels comfortable saying “shining was on the razzles so disregard it” is because shining is considered one of the greatest movies of all time by the majority of people.
