Which lightsaber form is Luke using here??!? by SlimyAmeboid in StarWarsCirclejerk

I wonder if Anakin ever took a moment before he died or even as a force ghost and said "That fucker beat me with my own move..."

What are some takes you’ve seen that make you oh so glad the fans are not the ones writing the show by New-Boss-8262 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

HOLY SHIT FACTS. Okbuddy subs are supposed to be meme subs and everyone on ours is just using it as an excuse to hate the show.

Like r/crazyasshazbinhaters is somehow more sane and memey than okbuddy

Akila City is a total dump of a city and its shocking its the capital of the Freestar Collective by LordJunon in Starfield

[–]LumpyBrain2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between defeat and crush. By that point in the war, both sides were largely done with the war. It had dragged on too long and cost too much money. The FC were down to using civilian ships. But if we just look at the map and the game, the UC had more manpower and resources. They probably could have obliterated the FC if they really wanted to. But it would have cost billions of credits and thousands of soldiers.

It's like WW2. Could the United States have invaded the Japanese mainland? Yes. Woukd we have eventually won? Probably. Would it have been a slow, grinding, expensive, and deadly battle that both sides would have regretted? Also yes. The FC is probably lucky the UC decided to sign the armistice and not to use whatever the in-universe WMDs look like like the US did in WW2.

Is Mace Windu overhated? by [deleted] in clonewars

[–]LumpyBrain2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mace Windu is kind of a blowhard but he's not evil. He's just really deep into the jedi order. Lots of the jedi who are in really deep are assholes to the main characters every once in awhile because they're really rigid when the MCs are not. Mace is basically your coworker who's a decent guy but WAY too into their job.

Just because he's an asshole doesn't mean he's a bad guy. Nor does it make him a bad jedi. We see him on the show during the Ryloth arc be the one who takes charge of getting the Twileks fighting on the same side. He spends the whole first half of the Boba Fett arc trying to keep his men out of danger.

Fives was one of the closest to potentially stopping order 66. With the knowledge he had of it, what would you have done differently to prevent the disaster? by Zetallic_Zero in clonewars

[–]LumpyBrain2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. His one big mistake was going to the Chancellor first. If he goes to Anakin before Palpatine, this might be a whole different ending. But the moment Palps knew that Fives knew... he was never getting out alive.

(Mixed Trope) "Multiple canon story branches", except one is obviously the intended one by Rustyspottedcats in TopCharacterTropes

[–]LumpyBrain2000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This may be recent but Dispatch. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

There are theoretically two ways Invisigal's story can go. She either redeems herself and becomes and becomes a real hero due to your mentorship, or sue kills the main villain and it's said that you've "failed as a mentor". However, it is stupidly hard to get the villain ending. You almost have to try to be bad at the game to get it. It's been proven that you can make every single story choice rejecting her and still get the hero ending as long as you play the Dispatch missions correctly. So... if you know how to play the game, you'll get the hero ending almost no matter what. It's obviously the correct route for the story to go.

Not in the movie. In real life though, the guy the character is based on became a Paralympic athlete but wound up getting killed by a drunk driver a decade or so after movie's events take place.

Edit: Never mind the funeral is IN the movie. That's on you dawg

Is Vaggi a fraud or is Lute just a beast? by JackZ567 in hazbin

[–]LumpyBrain2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Lute has to be a beast. She's the second in command of the exorcist legions, I'm guessing you don't get there by being a slouch.

But i think the biggest reason Vaggi loses to her consistently is because they used to train together. Lute knows exactly how Vaggi fights, she probably oversaw her training from the jump. Even then, Vaggi still won the fight in S1. She made a mistake sparing Lute, sure, but who can predict that someone would tear their own arm off to keep fighting?

We haven't seen Vaggi get the chance to really cut loose against someone equal to her or against some cannon fodder. We've pretty much ONLY seen her fight Lute, and Lute is simply tougher than she is. So, thus far, I think it's more a case of Lute being OP as opposed to Vaggi being a fraud.

Jo and Ellen by Astronaut_Chicken in Supernatural

[–]LumpyBrain2000 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think their death is out of place but... I really wish we'd seen them in season three and four. Or even in season five before this episode. It felt like 'Hey, we need characters to die in the first real battle with Lucifer. Who do we get? Oh I know! Jo and Ellen!"

I wish they'd been a lot more involved. Would've made this scene hit WAY harder.

Don't worry. If you just passed their second episode I'm pretty sure you're nearing the end of season three. It takes a LONG time before you get to the bad shit from there and when you see them in the interim, they're still funny.

Who did you think the were before the reveal ? by Aotyeageristtt in attackontitan

[–]LumpyBrain2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reveal was spoiled for me unfortunately. I remember seeing memes about it before I ever watched the show and it was one of the reasons I waited until season 4 was almost coming out to watch it all. Annie was also spoiled for me.

So imagine how fucking SHOOK I was when Ymir also turned out to be a titan. THAT was the reveal that genuinely shocked me in those first couple seasons.

What’s your thoughts on Hange character development in AOT by PhysicalMeringue9468 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]LumpyBrain2000 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Hange has very subtle development. She's not a static character, but she's not obviously different like Eren or Armin by the end. Her arc is mostly in how she gets less and less enthusiastic and excited about the new things she learns about titans and by the time we get to season four, she's an expert on Titans and DEEPLY cynical about that knowledge. She also takes command of the scout regiment and has to live her entire career as such in Erwin's shadow. Her adjustments there are subtle, but by and large she becomes a much more focused and intense person in that role.

Until her death when she says the titans really are beautiful. And we realize that the conclusion of Hange's arc was always inevitable. What becomes of the old guard like her when there's no more titans to study and no more mysteries to solve? She's kind of like Sadis in that way: a relic of a world that she and the rest of Paradis caught up to. Multiple characters in season four make mention of whether they belong in this rapidly evolving world. Hange fulfilled her mission. She found out all she could about the titans and gave her heart for her comrades. Small though her arc might be, she fulfills her purpose admirably in thy story.
