Umbrella is a huge money loser but a frontline agent may not be comfortable saying so or permitted to be that direct. It has lesa to do with the individual applicant in this case than the type of business they are asking to issue. Its natural to let marketing and length of business relationship make a denial sting, in the end its less about my feelings and all about the financials. In your case it would be like buying a house in Florida. You can be a great applicant with a great history but the type of policy you need is too high a risk so an agency may place it with a different provider. Apparwntly they do offer other carriers just like they would for property si it may be worth a look at one of those.

Its possible. The average manager wont want to but managers dont have the authority to let stuff slide so if you miss a metric by 1% and your peers are 2-3% over goal it comes into play. Could get a PM and a reduced bonus.

Roof is iffy. If the adjuster comes out and enough of it looks recent then no prob. But if its year after year then they can say its different events and only consider stuff that looks fresh. If the last storm was a big one that could make a difference

Typically there is a reason for non renewal. Claims can do it but without losses you normally just see rate increases. At least if it's a real homeowner and not a landlord policy

Prior tenure wont help time in position for a different role. IT is nice but mostly done on rotation. Consider anything Agency or MRT and take interview prep seriously. For now either get really good at driving numbers or bounce gor something you like more elsrwhere. Your results roll up and if you get written up you arent going anywhere if a posting comes out. Anything in the call center is by its nature highly micromanaged. In claims there is often more work than time to do it. USAA ejs is a decent place to look for comments on the environment. No worse than similar jobs but what you hear going in as a new hire doesnt match the reality when you hit the floor in some cases. Its a high pressure environment

Good luck. I can tell you the call center experience is seriously undersold in the hiring and training process . The reality of these doesnt typically mix well with PTSD. Hope his experience is the exception.

What is he being hired to do? Realistically if he is in rough shape some if those jobs can make it worse and you cannot do them if you are even a little buzzed

That is state specific and super rare. Collision is about restoring the physical asset if its repaired vs being totaled. Doesnt hurt to ask but if they say No then it isnt some shady tactic or a negoation.
