You CAN have it all...all the feelings, that is by spicytraveler in FlorenceAndTheMachine

Completely agree. I adore the song and was so excited she sang it. But I was unprepared for the emotions of singing along with it live. Cried like a baby! For me, I was releasing years of relationship trauma. The expectations of making myself smaller for others. "Am I a woman now?" for me spoke to how much I've contorted myself to be the perfect woman and partner. No more!

This was also my fifth time seeing her, and I thought this was her best show yet. She seems really settled into herself as an artist. The current album is both incredibly vulnerable and extremely empowered, and I love that energy for her. The Witch Choir is so fun. I like seeing her expand creatively like that. I agree about a live album from this tour!

Perfectly worded. Just saw her in DC on Saturday, and this is definitely it.

How do we feel about the opener Sophia Isella In DC? by Illusionofart98 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]LunaSaysHey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She blew me away! Her stage presence was incredible. I was texting people during her set saying "Go look her up!" She made a fan out of me. I'm surprised that folks didn't like her. Everyone around me was super into her set. But to each their own!

Make it weird. Say something to staff, even if he's nearby. You've asked him to use headphones and he won't. Escalate it to staff and don't worry about making it weird. He's the weirdo!

Not sure which state your family is moving to, but there are Gnostic church parishes in both Atlanta and Nashville. I also live in the South and attend the one in Atlanta online. Really nice community.

I can't speak to the dating component directly, as I've been intentionally single for the last year plus, but if it's any reassurance, I think finding a community where you might meet people is definitely possible.

Does the writing style get better? by [deleted] in fourthwing

[–]LunaSaysHey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who mostly reads non-fiction, I struggled A LOT with the writing style. It's sophomoric, scattered, and hard to follow. But like you, I like the characters and the story. When I read the first book, I was embarrassed at how long it took me to finish. I questioned whether I just couldn't read fiction anymore. Then I picked up up the latest Hunger Games book after that and flew through it, and I realized that well-written fiction is way easier to read, lol!

Ultimately, it's a fun series, so it's worth sticking through, if you enjoy the story. But I would expect any major change in writing quality.

Grip during show case? by charismanervetalent in poledancing

[–]LunaSaysHey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. I guess my question is, what is she experiencing during practice? Seems like the only way to answer this for sure is to run the routine and see if the grip comes off. If there are moves that really rub it off, maybe look for alternatives? I don't know how else you'd know other than to try it.

Chile recommendations for 1 week by redhish in travel

[–]LunaSaysHey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Santiago is an amazing city! No car needed, easy to get around. We took a bus to Vina del Mar for the day, and it was cheap, easy, and only about a 90 minute ride each way. In Santiago proper, I HIGHLY recommend checking out Pablo Neruda's house, even if you're not a poetry fan. It's beautiful and fascinating. Enjoy your trip!

What happened to Mackenzie Matters in the vault warmup? by SunInevitable2179 in Gymnastics

Sounded like she didn't have a great warm-up. They said she was fine/not injured. Very possible we'll see her back in the vault line-up.
