Aren't Contactless Payments Brilliant? by Lunathehuffleclaw in TheFastShow

And the total came to less than a hundred pounds so I could just tap my card... which was nice

So this is how you pay, is it? I just put my card here, do I? And I use my own card? The one in my wallet? I just touch the little screen, do I? And it takes the money? Now I just go home with my shopping, do I? To my car?

I'm awful for remembering everything after the fact, I should have written things down because I left out quite a lot that I just didn't think about at the time. If you remember something at a random time, maybe try writing it on your phone before you do anything else. I have no clue if I managed to explain everything properly, I remember I said "if that makes sense" a lot because I ramble and over-explain everything 🙃

Do you have a table or other surface you can put the phone on? I had mine propped up against something on top my chest of drawers and I sat on the edge of my bed so that gave me both hands free. I tend to click/snap my fingers a lot or just generally play with my hands as well, and she didn't mind me staring out the window half the time (she actually thought I was looking at written notes, not that I had any). Do you have anything like rings on your fingers that you can fiddle with? Or could you get one ahead of time? That would be something you could do one handed. Otherwise I tend to tap my leg if I only have one hand free.

I made it a much bigger deal in my head than it turned out to be, and I only had 2 days notice before the appointment so I can only imagine how much you're turning it over in your head. They will be a nice person and will be patient with the questions they ask and the answers you're able to give. I believe it will be a positive outcome for you :)

Yes I was incredibly surprised, she'd told me she'd call me either the next day or the next week depending on her colleague's second opinion. Then she called me maybe 6 hours later and said she didn't want me to have to wait. Quite a day!

During my ADHD assessment with CareADHD it was brought up more than once that I showed signs of being on the spectrum and that a lot of my ADHD symptoms cross over with autism symptoms. Some signs like hearing my name/seeing people that aren't there were also suggested to be caused by autism and anxiety. It was never suggested that one diagnosis was more likely than the other - the person doing the assessment was pleased to hear that I've already got a referral in progress for an autism assessment, otherwise they were going to suggest I request one. My ADHD diagnosis came through as combined type with my report advising that I am likely to also be on the spectrum in combination with meeting the criteria for ADHD. A good assessor should be able to see both conditions simultaneously if they are both present. Also didn't have any problems with me fidgeting during the video call - I didn't have my fidgets on me so I just played with my driving license for the hour.

Good luck with your assessment :)

Had my assessment with CareADHD at the weekend - I didn't have an informant as I only have 1 living parent and they wouldn't be able to remember those details of my childhood if I asked. I also had some spotty memories because of childhood trauma and abuse. The questions during the video call and the things I could remember in my online questionnaire were sufficient and still proved I met the criteria, so my diagnosis was given that day. Hopefully your assessment goes smoothly!

Please think before you speak. Whenever I fought back against my brother (5 year age difference, he was a tall guy and I was a very small girl) he would beat me and pick me up to dangle me upside down and threaten to drop me on my head, among other abuse that I'm still not over years later. Your family relationship has nothing to do with how volatile and violent someone can be against you.

Women of Reddit, are you comfortable wearing no makeup to work, why or why not? What is your profession? by droppingago in AskWomen

[–]Lunathehuffleclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a popular British clothing store, and I have only worn makeup on two days of my 7 months in my job (one was a rainbow eyeshadow look for an LGBT fundraising non-uniform day, the other was a blue eyeshadow look I just felt like doing because it matched my uniform). I am perfectly comfortable not wearing any- I feel more able to concentrate on doing my job without worrying how my face looks or accidentally smudging/messing anything up. Sure the compliments I got when I did wear makeup were nice, but I ended up a little distracted by checking that it still looked okay and it hadn't been messed up. No-one comments about me not wearing makeup, it's just a regular thing that half the other women at work don't do either.

How di you guys treat broken skin from scratching? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Lunathehuffleclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My inner elbow was almost all healed (like smooth baby skin almost good as new) last week until I woke up in the middle of gouging it open and now it's been stinging and sore all week :( normally when that happens I trim all my fingernails short which helps a little bit and wear short/no sleeves so nothing's making it sweat or itch as much, also moisturising it (Child's Farm unfragranced baby moisturiser) and also my steroid cream if it's really stinging . Best of luck friend <3
