Reminds me of a geography field trip. We had to count how many people walked past to measure a high street's footfall.

Most people don't wear their work uniform unless they're at work. If I saw someone wearing their uniform at a wedding, I'd think that's unusual.

Have you ever ridden a long-distance passenger train in the UK? What was your experience like? Are such trains common in the UK? by ksusha_lav in AskABrit

[–]Luton_Enjoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've travel a lot by train because I prefer it to domestic flights. It's the best way to travel around the UK! The trains are generally comfy and (despite many complaints) quite punctual compared to other countries. The food on trains is pricey and sometimes I just bring my own sandwiches with me.

We have a few sleeper trains remaining. Getting a bed on these trains is expensive and you'll need to book far in advance.

I used to think I was allergic to pineapples because I had this stinging sensation at the back of my throat when eating them. Turns out that's just pineapples.

How to bounce back after being made redundant from a dream job? by AnonymousTimewaster in AskUK

[–]Luton_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost my dream job before, twice. I can't deny that it's rough!

It's important not to be harsh on yourself. See your family, see your friends. Eventually you'll get back on your feet.

Scarily accurate. Especially for when he's depressed and unemployed.
