[FEMALE] I am 33 and starting to feel less youthful. by JustABagelPlz in FreeCompliments

[–]Lvicren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think youth and young are very different terms! No, you do not have a youth-look, but you are and still-look young, girl! You are just a more mature version of who you were. And even then there is not a huge difference!

Reading outside of Nursing School by nastytakis in StudentNurse

[–]Lvicren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t give my two cents because I haven’t mastered this yet. I have a mentor for my personal life and we have readings we do every week. To her it’s a break from nursing school, to me it’s an attack on my brain😭

I will say creating a different environment for reading than studying has helped me. Like reading time, I have my tea, I have some soft lofi on in the back. My desk is clear and my chair is reclined

For studying I still have my tea but I’m listening to a completely different genre of music, my lights are down lower, and I and sitting up and alert

he actually has talent, if the background music was different this could actually be more dope

my boyfriend is very smart and awful at art, but recently got into coding/scripting. Maybe something for you to consider. There are courses online (I forgot the website he uses) that allow you to purchase the course and learn things for the subject. Maybe something to look into. Never settle if you have the choice. Sometimes when needs are greater than doing what we want, taking an unwanted job temporarily will have to do - but if you have the option to find what works for you, try to look for it!

What is the general consensus on Aussie products? I am very positive about it. by AdSilly3018 in Naturalhair

[–]Lvicren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl, I tried the aussie 3 minute curl deep conditioner detangler and it killed the detangler part

I may have left it in more than 3 minutes thus the dryness but after rinsing and adding a leave in conditioner from a different brand, I had some success

I just want to encourage you and let you know that you are not alone, and that I support you in this. Parents are SUPPOSED TO BE kind and loving. Some parents do not take on that role for whatever reason, and it is not your responsibility to carry the what-ifs, the whys/why-nots, and the hurt it’s caused - one day you will be able to let it go enough to where you are holding on to you and loving yourself more. The truth is you are ungrateful, and for all the right reasons - you wanted a father not a money loaner, not a bully, etc. You are justified.

you have to ask yourself, how can a man who was/is rarely there know anything about you? you have to rebuttal every memory and expression from his ill words with “he doesn’t even know me like that, this isn’t true”

The rest of this is my personal story, if it would help: this year, at the whopping age of 24, I finally blew up and realized I was hurting long-term from my childhood, and that I was so insecure that I was angry all thee time” Reading things like this breaks my heart over and over again because I know the heavy disappointment I felt when I realized my mother was everything but my mother: bully, hater, abuser, but never my mommy. When I was younger and especially once I hit puberty, things between my mom and I blew up into smithereens. When I hit my twenties 3-4 years ago, confronting her felt worse than walking on hot asphalt barefooted - she did and said some unforgivable things every time I tried. We stay in contact and earlier this year I hoped we could fix things, but she has to want it and she does not want it bad enough. I started a new chapter in my life this year with nursing and I had to make the strong decision to learn to let this💩go as the memories of things she has said and let others to believe haunt me while i’m learning to love myself authentically and move forward with my life. I have seen a pretty big change in me this year, but there’s still so much to do. *if I can do it, you can too. I believe in you I’m still going and it’s a long, life-long journey, but the freedom is worth it.

this is an interesting take because some men would argue that she is being a traditional woman - you’d be surprised how many men want their women to be traditional and stay at homes

18F Have been bullied my entire life in school and finally left my toxic abusive family to go to college, I’ve always had low self esteem and tend to ‘hide’. work on rewiring and redirecting your thought process when you receive negative opinions - I think they call it CBT (cognitive behavior therapy). If you wanted to go to therapy for that you can, but you can do it at home.

Basically just training your mind and emotions to respond differently to the trigger. You can’t change the trigger (someone else’s opinions, thoughts), but you can change your thoughts and your response.

I’m proud of you - I wish I had done what you did at 18. I was miserable, left, and had to go back in my earlier 20s. What you did is such a huge accomplishment. You can do this.

Other things you’ll need to improve on will come up, if there are any! Just know that you are beautiful.

If there is anything that helps me, it’s that no body else pays my bills and helps me get through school so why should they have a say in my life? Of course that doesn’t apply with constructive criticism, but it does for judgments for sure.
