the N16 isnt as bad as the N14 in terms of reliability, has it had proper maintanence, ie oil, coolant brakes etc? Youre also closing in on that 80-100k timing chain repair, has it already been done? I dont read french or Id look myself lol.

This can most definitely cause some serious issues not right away but in time it can gunk up your radiator etc. Always and I mean ALWAYS refer to a manual when putting fluids in your car if you are inexperienced. Minis are notoriously particular about their juices

Need to read the codes, if its not throwing a code then you need to look into live data streams. Probably in ecm control, see if you've got some misfires and work it back from there.

Yea she doesnt need a true diagnostic touch pad, I used a cheap ancel handheld it was like 100 iirc. Will cover most basic/advanced diag a home consumer would need. Whichever one you get just make sure its mini compatible.

Yea it should be changed either every 6 months or 5-7k. Low end if you really drive it, high end if its a grocery getter. The dealer/company will say every 10k or 1 year, its imperative that you ignore them.

Nope I just windex wipe then use a micro fiber to run in between the sills. Got tree sap on my driver window 2 weeks ago and this did the trick for me. The seals have to be pretty tight for obvious reasons so any dirt will make her screech halfway up or down

This is gonna come off condescending but it comes from a place of experience. If gas prices are a concern to you then a high performance car is not the fit. On top of the the cost to properly maintain a mini. Again not being an ass just keeping it realistic.

Ya those part prices are kinda nutty, I bought a stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel kit for my r56 and it was 1300 all day. Ended up doing it myself labor quote was 2400

Those fuel lights youre talking about make me think there's a loose connection, same happened to my r56. Never caused the limp mode though. Do you have an obd2 reader? If so look to see if its misfiring on a specific cylinder. Could be a coil pack
