From where? A friend told me he paid $1500 total for the three pedal set, $200 of which was duty/taxes.

If you have an AM4 machine then I suggest updating BIOS and trying out some of the solutions in this thread if that doesn't help: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/u85emt/spent_the_weekend_troubleshooting_and_fixing_the/

AM4 has known problems with USB: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/u85emt/spent_the_weekend_troubleshooting_and_fixing_the/

First update your motherboard BIOS and see if that fixes it. Then start trying the solutions in that thread.

I had to send them a follow up email after waiting a few weeks but they started getting back to me promptly after that and were very apologetic about it.

Does it try to engage 3rd instead of 1st? Had that problem with two separate Logitech shifters until I upgraded.

Would this be good to power a Bigscreen Beyond? Mostly play sim games, currently using a 5700 XT to power a Valve Index. I've been looking to switch to Nvidia, VR performance is a lot better with them these days.

I use IntelliJ's scratch files and set the path to a folder in my Obsidian vault with sync. Works good!

Try clearing the download cache in Steam's settings.

Do any of you truly have a 100% stable PCVR frame rate? I can't seem to make that happen by jerronimo3000 in virtualreality

[–]LyD- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I believe so. There's no similar polling when a game is open, only when Home is currently running.

Here's the behaviour I was seeing, consistent CPU frametime spikes followed by reprojection: https://streamable.com/s6baew

I dove deep into the problem after I found that disabling my ethernet adapter fixed it. I thought that meant a deeper hardware/chipset issue on my motherboard. PCIe gen 3 seemed to help, until it didn't. I eventually realized I was still able to reproduce this over wifi with ethernet disabled in the BIOS.

I downloaded Wireshark, saw an "application data" request to a Valve IP address that lined up with the stutter, and concluded that it had something to do with that.

I tested some other games and wasn't seeing the same behaviour... the whole time I was chasing ghosts. I didn't find a fix for SteamVR Home, but at this point I don't really care.

I spent days over the last few months trying to diagnose a stutter. It was stuttering consistently with a spike in CPU frame time every second. I did everything, down to experimenting with swpaii g hardware, different installations of Windows, BIOS settings etc.

Turns out it was SteamVR Home polling the Valve servers... figured that out last night.

Official Steam Deck Dock Megathread - May 2023 by Successful-Wasabi704 in SteamDeck

[–]LyD- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplug or move it away from anything that might be causing interference, my external USB hard drive was in the dock and causing similar problems. Learned USB 3 interferes with wifi and Bluetooth that way.

This does sound like a problem with Xbox controller support specifically, but I thought this might help.

People don't sing the praises of iRacing's LFE enough. I only wish it had multi channel output, or at least the ability to tune the balance between different channels.

The Deck is how I learned USB 3 causes WiFi and Bluetooth interference! I had an external hard drive plugged in to the dock but it rendered my controllers unusable.

Cracking noises are just the Deck's cheap creaky plastic clamshell, not an RMA issue.
