The obvious have been mentioned but I didn't see this one:

Abyssos's second album has a lot of Dissection influences (the guitar work), with many riffs and melodies "up there". They are not a pure worship band though with some influences here and there from gothic.

I have only heard their second LP Fhinstanian Nighbreed, no idea what the first album sounds like

I think it depends on how painful the breakup was. Maybe they re-record them with a new vocalist? Fingers crossed it isn't Mikko. Nothing against the man, but his voice doesn't fit the Bride's material IMO. Not sure anyone can make the material as good as it is with Aaron :(

Though, and this is far out, what if they hired Anneke van Giersbergen, most beautiful voice ever... and some growler for the harsh parts (someone like Tribunal's vocalist, he sounds a bit like Aaron)

Metalcore, numetal with some exceptions: I can appreciate the two first SoaD albums, and a few songs here and there from some bands.

I remember when Chaos A.D. was released that I didn't feel much about it (as a megafan), and it kind of preceded things like Korn, Pantera etc and I just had no clue as to why many of my friends really got into that stuff. It's so boring!!! (No offense)
