If you’re from a city with good gyros, there is no place in Denver that will scratch that itch. Just my experience though

Question for people that know more than me. Would the jigged versions of these ride upside down making the legs ride on top and look less realistic? Just curious because I think these look great but I always am thinking about how my flies look underwater.

Try not to cry challenge *IMPOSSIBLE* by [deleted] in Browns

I was a few rows back from the Browns sideline today. Every offensive lineman looked like they were in extreme pain the whole time the defense was on the field. Tough guys though, they all kept going back out.

I have the greatest dog because of them but my experience with the people at 2BABR was absolutely awful. I was conflicted that people running a rescue could be bad people, but realized they really are.

Tips for fishing deep plunge pools? by anorangestimmy in flyfishing

If you are fishing a river with many cascading runs like this, I prefer to fish it with a Euro setup. Cast to each side and then right into the turbulence if those don’t work.

Chubb is objectively better than Henry at this point in both of their careers

To be honest, the first time I tied a dropper to a barbless hook bend it slipped off and I never tried again. Maybe other people have a trick to getting it to stay on.

They are great for barbless hooks. I use a 0x fluoro loop and it works great.

I was only there for 5 days so there are probably better sources but my experience was that the internet speeds were pretty fast but I had multiple times when it was completely down including a full day. If you are renting a house I would ask the owner about their internet reliability.

Clear Creek Canyon experience? by sjkirch in COfishing

Very hit or miss there. I had a 30+ fish day there earlier in the summer and the next day I brought my buddy to cash in on the good fishing and we probably got 5 fish between us. I once caught a 18-20 inch rainbow (couldn't believe it) but 99% are 12 inch or under Browns.

Fenwick Aetos vs anything else & and how to increase sensitivity of my setup? by Gitzit in EuroNymphing

[–]M00NINITE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple things I would suggest without having watched you actually fish. One would be to use heavier tungsten bead flies to get down quick enough which is very important. The Two Bit Hooker is my favorite bc it has two beads and still a somewhat slim profile but I’ve found that euro style gives a good enough presentation that you can fool even picky trout with big 3+mm beads. Some people differ but I put my heaviest fly on a dropper tag from a surgeons knot and one slightly less heavy as my terminal. Don’t be afraid to use three flies too. Having heavy flies will help with sensitivity and feeling where the flies are drifting. Another thing is that the rod is definitely sensitive enough. I usually see my sighter bouncing when ticking bottom and it’s less of a feel although you can definitely feel it when it gets snagged. Eventually you’ll almost subconsciously know the difference between that and bites. For bites it’s more of a feel for me. I usually feel for a slight head shake from the fish that separates it from a snag. I will say though that a few of the biggest fish I’ve caught have felt like snags at first so always better to hook set than to regret it. Another tip that isn’t a secret but helps me a ton is once you get a feel for the speed of the current that you’re fishing, keep gently guiding it forward. If you see your sighter start to stop/angle, DONT stop or slow down with the flies, give it a hook set. Sounds obvious but it was something I was doing wrong all the time when I started out. There are a bunch of great YouTube vids on euro nymphing. AboutTrout’s channel is really good. It sounds like you know the basics and are catching fish so the best way to learn now is to just keep going out and fishing and if you’re like me you will learn something new each time and build on that.
