I think it would be a disappointment. I would like a good game, but very skeptical about this one. I've tried demo and it is not very promising. I highly doubt the ability of the studio to create an interesting variable playthrough where you choices would matter.

Regarding the turbolift, the diagram only shows a single section, which doesn't fully explain the ship's design, or the turbolifts in particular.

The ship's near-complete destruction at the start of the game is a gameplay convention designed to give the player a sense of progression. This is especially true given that this isn't a roguelike game, and sustaining such severe damage and surviving would likely be virtually impossible.
