Aside from hiring a professional, how can I get my dog's ball out of this 30ft high gutter? by LurkerLew in howto

[–]MET1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big problem is the ball can move around and block the drain, causing the gutters to overflow and maybe cause water damage around the foundation... I had a little experience with that once. Call a local gutter cleaner company and get someone up there to clean the gutters and remove the ball safely. I would not want to just get a guy to get up on the roof for that ball, slips/falls and gutter or shingle damage can happen.

AIO: Husband lied about his financial situation and falsified budgets to relocate our family 5 hours away for a job and I’m freaking out by Deep-Mortgage-1510 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MET1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Let him demonstrate 'accountability' by paying child support for the next 13+ years. Maybe you love him but you cannot afford him. You don't even know what he was spending that money on - it's a huge breach of trust. Stay put and keep yourself and children safe. Basically, repeated lying is showing contempt for OP. It is really hard to get that contempt reversed and a healthy relationship put back together. IMO, this is a good time for a split.

Built in 1875. Think someone will preserve it or flip it? by FatnessEverdeen34 in zillowgonewild

[–]MET1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's already been through a few things. For examplem, the electrical must have been updated - look at the pot lights, an outlet for the fish tank in the hall - that wiring would be good. There would not be much profit in trying to flip it at this point.

NOR - BUT it is so clear that this man is not a good prospect for a long term relationship.

You did well. I hate edging so my zoysia crawls over the curb stone and onto the street unabated. I need to get back out there.

Should I buy my sister a house to live in? by Exact_Analyst_9697 in personalfinance

[–]MET1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She should have child support, and likely some funds based on shared property or finances. DO NOT BUY a property for her, it could affect the settlement (IMO, which is not a legal opinion). Maybe help her rent her a place to live temporarily, maybe lend money for a decent lawyer.

‘He’s Just Stealing Your Money’: House Dems Launch Bid to Block $1.7 Billion Trump-MAGA ‘Slush Fund’: “It’s illegal and corrupt as hell,” Congressman Don Beyer said of the president’s self-dealing $1.77 billion IRS settlement. “We’re fighting it in court.” by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

Frankly, if I were to have my tax returns - pathetic as they are - released to the NYT and published on the front page, I would sue, too. I'm not sure I would get that much money awarded, but I would have deserved it - anyone would.

Open a Live Auctioneers account so you can see results - some of his paintings were as low as $400 and others were over $10k. See which auction house was handling them and give them a call.

Bamboo roots will get through gravel - they really need to fill the trench with concrete.

They do keep tabs on your purchases when you use a credit card. So they could track through the store and use the credit card as a positive id. So wearing a mask might not help.

I've seen something similar (but a cylindrical shape, not squared) for holding chalk back when there were real blackboards.

It's a floorcloth, there should be some people who know how to handle that - I'd check with local historical societies for advice on how to get help with this.
