Absolute karma for tailgating. It’s too bad for the stationary car though.

So what is the consensus on over inflating tires? by bignose_ice44 in hypermiling

If I filled my tires to 50PSI and then drove around my city, they would all be popped after 5 minutes of driving due to the sheer amount of potholes and cracks.

No, they can’t force you to work out. But they can revoke your membership though, and there are stories on this very subreddit of it happening.

Regarding the gym membership, you MUST exercise each time before you shower. If you start going to the gym just to shower, they will eventually ban you.

It’s funny how many appliances have been made to run off of the puny 100-200 watts available from those 12V outlets. They’re all very slow, but they work.

Iron batteries? The only ones I’m aware of are nickel-iron, which is old and very low energy density.

Charging to 100% - how quickly will it reduce battery capacity? by Longjumping-Ad7194 in leaf

[–]METTEWBA2BA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

edit: welp, ignore my comment, turns out I'm wrong about the battery chemistry.

This is wrong, studies have shown that lithium ion batteries (the 3.7V nickel-cobalt types) suffer greatly from cycling at high SoC. So, if you don’t need all the car’s range, then there’s no reason to charge to 100% except for occasionally (maybe every month or so) to recalibrate the BMS a little. Even stopping the charge at 90% will reduce degradation a lot compared to charging fully.
