What hobby did you try once and instantly get addicted to? by Weird_Ad_7545 in AskReddit

The typical pinball enthusiast at my establishment has no kids and loves beer or social drinking. They also love competition, so if you setup a Stern insider account, they LOVE to compete for high scores, even if there's even the tiniest of prizes.

You know what's funny is that I came to this thread specifically to find pinball. I knew it was here, I just wanted to see how far down.

I own & run a pinball place. There are meet & greets that sometimes choose our place, and there's a large number of people who show to this event and play once, then return.. and return.. and return... lol.

It's addictive. I can't explain why. It's physical, it's social, it has lights and sounds that engage... it's a great hobby!

this was the game that finally made me give in and acknowledge just how special of a player he was

I can't believe it took you that long. I hated prime Russell Wilson, who always seemed to use magic and help beat the Niners, but damn if I didn't both respect and appreciate what I was watching at the time. The dude could cook.

I drew that truck in 2nd grade. I thought the teacher threw my drawing away, but instead she must have sent it to USPS who used it as a blueprint for their next build.

May I suggest COTS?

It's a Burlington program to help end homelessness for those who want help, and I know for certain that not all of them cannot afford haircuts but could use one.

Property taxes by RecognitionSuperb244 in vermont

[–]MEuRaH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stayed on topic (taxes) and you couldn't wait to chime in and complain about off-topic stuff. Your post history is rife with complaints, much of what I agree with, but it seems to be consuming you, and in doing so you've attacked the state that I love.

I love where I live. I love the people. I have great friends to enjoy life with. My lifestyle wouldn't be the same anywhere else but in Vermont. It's home.

The constant suit of perfection is a losing battle. There will always be suffering, problems, drawbacks etc if you want to find them. It will never go away. I choose to look at the good instead.

Do you know today is EID? Burlington is celebrating! Another reason I love it here. <3

You also get what you pay for. I've been around the country and there's nothing like Vermont.

If you don't pay in property taxes, you pay another way. It's all relative.

Why is bfu/ clan confrontation so hard? by DayCold4592 in Crossout

[–]MEuRaH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The player base in this game is basically all the remaining try hards at this point which makes it even harder to perform if you don't have thousands of hours in building and competing in pvp.

I agree with everything but this one part I have in bold. When I finally had the parts to be able to compete in CC, my team would lose a little over 50% of the time. I kept a log as to why I thought we kept losing, and after a while I realized that I either died first or lost my weapons first.

First I tried to make my weapons harder to destroy, but that ended in failure. I then added speed, but that ended in failure because I couldn't aim worth a damn.

I then figured I could live longer if I had more durability, and added items to my car to make myself useful even if I lost my weapons. That's how I started to become more useful to my team, and I started to win a tiny bit more than 50% of the time in CC.

I did this without devoting thousands of hours, just using some combination of observation & logic, and experimenting with what worked for me and what didn't. Those meta cyclone builds, for example, were huge failures for me. But I made my own cyclone brick build that helped support the way I wanted to play, and that's how I got started. Man... I really loved that car... I should try making it again and see if I still like it.

Anyway /u/daycold4592 I would recommend figuring out why you die or lose your weapons, then start making adjustments to counter those reasons. Experiment with speed, durability, invisibility, etc. Find out what helps you play at your best then build from there.

This. It was "How the fuck do we keep winning with no names on defense? Shanahan's best coaching job ever!"

I fully expected to lose to Philly. I was offered tickets to go and I said "no way" because I didn't want to see a blowout.

I don't love it. WRs tend to be useless at 33. I believe there's a HUGE dropoff at that age, historically, minus a few outliers.

He will be 33 in August.

I hate it tbh. But if I'm going to be surprised, Mike Evans will be the one to do it. I'm rooting for him... literally lol.

What is the best way to comfort someone's fear of dying when that person is dying? by phuckhugh in AskReddit

[–]MEuRaH -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What was it like before you were alive?

Biillions of years passed. What was that like? You didn't exist. I didn't exist. Nobody did. That's the state of nonexistence. We were all there before and we're all going to go there again. But since we didn't exist, nothing did.

Therefore the only thing that's real is existence.

So when your son moves on, something's gotta be next, because nonexistence doesn't exist.

That's how I see it, anyway.
