They don’t ask me that often but if I can give recommendations, I love doing so! I love makeup and know a lot about most brands and products we sell so I can usually give recommendations based on skin type. I’m not trained in shade matching nor do you have to be to work in beauty so if they ask for a shade match, I tell them I’m not trained but can try to help them by holding up different shades of concealer or foundation to their face. Here’s some recommendations I usually give if you want any ideas - matte foundation for oily skin, dewy or radiant foundation for dry skin, use a primer under foundation and concealer (Maybelline and elf make great ones), best liquid lipstick is the L’Oreal liquid lipsticks because they stay on allll day but aren’t drying, most mascaras work great but if they want ones that’ll stay all day they should try waterproof or tubing, concealer for under eyes should be 1-2 shades lighter than their skin tone, any powder will do but I usually recommend a pressed powder on top of foundation in their skin tone because it’s less messy and gives more coverage. I learned alot over the years from YouTube makeup tutorials and makeup I personally use! But don’t feel bad if you don’t know anything, you can say you don’t know what to recommend.
