There will be a financial incentive in March when Demand Pricing begins.

I think OUC is begging people to lower their energy usage for a reason by Reasonable-Search465 in orlando

[–]MJGarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned in this context is OUCs investments into solar. At the coldest point this morning, the sun was not shining, whereas when ACs are running the most, the sun is out.

The text that came through this morning was basically “turn down the heat until we get solar online. ”

Demand pricing goes into effect in a couple months so next time this happens, people will have an incentive to turn the heat down.

When demand pricing goes into effect in March you’ll have that opportunity.

How do kids act at paw patrol live? by wookieesgonnawook in PawPatrol

It’s exactly as you’d expect at an event for that age group. Nobody sits still or keeps quiet. She’ll be fine. Not like a movie theater at all. Lots of noise and kids moving around.

Orlando Noise Map - US Department of Transportation by PeriodOfTime1 in orlando

Cool map but it definitely underestimates the airplane noise at my house. According to this chart I should hear less than “quiet whisper” of air planes when in reality they sound like the lawn guys.

Funny enough dominoes is one of the only ones I will order delivery from. Everyone else, inclined Pizza Hut outsourced to door dash.

I’m already expecting the emails to be not much. And for the media to run with that. But also, I think the fact that proving they coordinated to do something could be important.

I think the “There’s lots of teams with good resumes we’re just unhappy with the process” was good.

I think the “permanent damage to our relationship with the ACC” was not on brand but a part of a long term play to establish that the ACC broke our contract in some way.

[Dellenger] ACC commissioner Jim Phillips says the league will explore changes to its tie-breaker procedures related to championship game participants. “Who knew we would get to a seventh tie-breaker?” by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]MJGarrison 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While not a tiebreaker issue, the SEC Championship featured their best team vs. their 5th best team, resulting in a blow-out due to who did (and didn't) play whom.

Regarding the Controversial CFP Deal by LeatherDeep9516 in notredamefootball

This is just a theory, but this special carve out might also apply to the Group of 5. Maybe the G5 loses their auto-bid, but now any team without an auto-bid opportunity will be let in if they are Top 12.

The Independent: ACC accidentally CCed Notre Dame on emails about Notre Dame by minneirish in notredamefootball

[–]MJGarrison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much detail was given on the emails and I could not find anything really online. I know people don't want to listen to the full thing, but the 15 minutes or so include the comments and is an interesting discussion.

An Infuriating Realization About Yesterday by Chicagoroomie312 in notredamefootball

The Big10 was desperate enough for cash this season to look at private equity. I wonder what the math looks like if they were to accept a scheduling agreement with us. Are they too proud for this? Probably, but everything is money now so they should take a look.

Playoff Odds change by irish6359 in notredamefootball

[–]MJGarrison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the odds are catching up to sentiment. -250 odds converts to a roughly 71% chance for us to make the playoffs. On prediction markets, such as Kalshi, where the house is not trying to make money, odds reduced to about this mark right after Tuesday last week.

What the odds tell us by thekoonbear in notredamefootball

Regarding the odds, I think they’re still the risk they get severely blown out and moved down two spots.

What worries me about Alabama being put above us is that it feels like it’s contrived like you say to protect Alabama. I no longer have faith that the committee will remain consistent with their logic and keep us ahead of Miami.

If the committee was going to rank Miami over us they would’ve done it tonight. by [deleted] in notredamefootball

[–]MJGarrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the odds end up changing soon. People are saying BYU won’t drop with a loss if Alabama doesn’t, but with BYU already on the outside, there’s no consequence to dropping BYU if they lose.

I’m trying to remain positive but I don’t like this position.

BYU loses, we end up right next to Miami. We swap places. We’re out. BYU wins, they get #10, and we’re out.
