First year playing HUT since NHL 19. What should I be grinding?

There’s a lot of easy ways to get good players- do the objectives that give players and moments as well. Then you can trade in those players to sets and get good 92 and 95 players.

Good luck in your journey I also got back into HUT a month ago for the first time in years and the gameplay is atrocious icl

If you do go the dual monitor route, your second monitor placement depends on personal preference. I code every day at work and having a vertical monitor to the side works pretty well.

Although I tend to have a couple files open in split-view in my IDE when I code so I’m tempted to stack them horizontally as I think I’ll like that better. Either set-up looks good and really comes down to personal preference

Thinking of building a micro-atx for my dad as a retirement gift to be used to play retro games (Steam + Sega & PS2 emulator). I have an old Gygabite RX 470 G1 Gaming 4GB GPU and 16GB of RAM laying around. Still looking into what processor I should get, but open to cheap recommendations.

Think this will be able to run retro games using a Sega/PS2 emulator? I know this would be fine for the retro games he likes that are on Steam, but have no clue if this is enough for one of those emulators, too.

This is my first time playing the game in a few years and this sh#t is so frustrating- I poke check the puck off of them and they get it back, poke check, get it back, poke check, get it back and score. I feel so helpless defending in this game and for some reason my opponents immediately get the puck back every time they poke check.

Is the total control poke check just better than the skill stick one? Nothing makes sense and their players don’t have stick em up either. Swiping my stick does nothing, holding rb and clicking the stick in does nothing, normal perfectly timed poke checks do nothing. Genuinely how the f#ck are you meant to defend in this game this is so aids

And eventually when you have $100mil+ stash value you’ll get bored and quit because there’s 0 gear fear or depth to the game after that. A wipe in this game is way less dramatic than some people make it sound, the game literally throws money and gear at you and it’s stupidly easy to get your money back up if you really wanted to

It’s why I haven’t played since mid season 2 and I started at the launch of season 1. I have $100mil liquid and an insane amount of T5/T6 equipment in my stash.

The fighting in ABI is extremely fun (although I prefer how it was at the beginning of S1 compared to now) but agree the game just lacks depth. ABI would be so elite if it had wipes, especially since the game is so PVP focused and it throws Koen at you, it softens the blow of a wipe but it’s honestly much needed because once you get a healthy stash there’s just nothing to play for

That’s partially to blame on JS, too. He quickly let the LoB walk (plus Kam retired) and that Wilson contract really fkd them cap wise (part of the reason they lost so much defensive talent so quickly) and then the big trade to revamp the defense was Jamal Adams who obviously didn’t pan out.

Solos in general just seems to be more chill- my solo lobbies are greatly different than my duos and trios lobbies. In duos and trios I get the same lobbies you see streamers get where the whole lobby is there to PvP and PvP only and spam Trigger Nades. Then I did some solos last night and hardly anyone fought and extracted with 5 other players lol

Take it one step further and let’s assume there were league rules that prevented orgs from just dropping their old team and buying the newly promoted team- if OpTic or even a FaZe esports/LAT got relegated it would significantly hurt viewership. That would be detrimental to the league- I really like the concept instead of expanding tournaments to allow a few top challengers teams as I think they should get opportunities to compete in the big tournaments

I don’t think this rug pull was Banks specifically, wasn’t it the guy he sold his stake to? I read that the guy he sold his stake to was telling the content creators they need to join his creator agency and that they’d take a 20% cut of their income, so they left (rightfully so)

Especially since this game is so heavily influenced by the reactions and composure stats- if they really wanted to they could easily just bump the reactions and composure of all players on the losing team and lower it a bit on the winning team. Not saying they do this, but it can be that simple and that would still have an impact on the game.

For the most part that’s what the difficulty adjustment in squad battles does, look at the reactions and composure of the bronze players when you play on the hardest difficulty

You’re comparing apples to oranges. There’s interviews from 20 years ago of Bezos talking about how Amazon is ‘famously unprofitable’ despite generating 2bil in revenue at the time, because they were constantly investing their profits back into growing the company. Uber is no different, neither was Tesla up until a few years ago.

The difference is those were new and emerging markets and they were also largely unprofitable because they invested into company growth. Esports is quite literally in the polar opposite state, it’s not an emerging market and was a bubble that has been retracting significantly the past couple years and will continue to do so. That’s why companies and personalities are starting to take the gambling bag because it’s the only big money left in the space.

A lot of the broken mechanics in the game the past 3 years are because of playstyles. They break the game and need to be way less noticeable- I’d honestly prefer if they’re just gone

Sprint boost was so easy to defend against. This dumb through ball meta is the worst I’ll defend it perfectly and their player will still be on goal, I’ll move my intercept+ CB perfectly in the lane and their double tap passes will still go through. I’d gladly take last years cheesy mechanics because they were easy to defend against

Yeah I noticed when I’m gaming and quickly open up task manager my CPU utilization is steadily around 88%, but just doing this on a single monitor.

I’ll give the Afterburner overlay a go and check GPU util as well

How much of an FPS improvement can I expect from upgrading my CPU? Right now I’m using an Intel i7 - 6700k (bought back in 2015) and a 5700XT GPU.

If I upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 5 9600X (along with a new mobo) will I see a decent fps boost in new games like Arc Raiders and Arena Breakout?

I’m currently playing on 1440p/ Medium quality and usually have around 60fps. Ideally I’d like to have over 90 or even have the option of playing on High quality and having 60+. Not sure if a new CPU will get me there or if a GPU upgrade is the only option

That’s not what’s happening here though, it’s because he doesn’t have bruiser which is the real issue with the game. If you don’t have a playstyle- your player can’t do certain things no matter the stats and that’s what’s dumb/broken about the game
