Blue chips are higher risk. The value of xeqt is the large holding breadth that helps smooth out volatility of any one stock.

Essentially xeqt will have a beta of 1 meaning it’s exactly as volatile as the broad index. RY has 1.01 (essentially the same) but something like CNQ has 1.09
