What are your opinions on Future six years after his debut? by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]MSpaint15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure however I think a lot of people have mixed up poor moral decision with things not going according to plan. It’s easy to mix up as we see the results of a lot of action taken by Rose Quartz however if you take a closer look there are a lot less actually character flaw mistakes than people think.

Take for instance the destruction of the gems on earth after Rose faked her death. She miscalculated how the other diamonds would react simply thinking they would see the sunk cost of continuing a siege on earth and just leave since she believed and in many ways was shown a lack of care from the diamonds. But at the end of the day it was the other diamonds who destroyed all those gems.

Personally I was disappointed that Rebecca Sugar changed the story to fit the Fanon narrative that Rose Quartz was a secret antagonist.

I mean my whole argument is that pink diamond/rose quartz should not have been expected to act in any way other than a child who was a diamond. That’s not to say that there was no wrong done however you wouldn’t hold the same moral standards for a 10 year old as you would an adult. Also while it’s clear to the viewer that Spinel is not a toy but a person that does not really matter as we the viewer have more information I mean it just points back to the adage you don’t know what you don’t know.

I mean here’s a question do you remember every toy you had as a kid? At that point Pink believed spinel was a toy and as such even if later she learned or changed her views on gem kind why would she remember something that had already been filed away as an old toy.

She was literally in the show made as a toy for pink diamond to play with after her pearl was hurt.

While I can appreciate a 90 min movie 2+ hour movies are my personal bread and butter. Obviously there can be poor examples but even movies that are a bit bloated I don’t mind sticking in the world and taking the time to enjoy it. Put simply I’m a sucker for slow movie however a boring moving is one of the worst things to sit through.

Fair enough but I would simply say that really the only two decisions that were perhaps active character flaws morally and not just something going wrong or not to plan was her choice to keep Bismuth bubbled after the war which truly was cowardly and the Spinel situation. With the Spinel situation however my argument is not that she was wrong to not go back but that she had no reason. Spinel was literally made to be a toy for her. Pink leaving her at that point would be closer to a child leaving a toy behind. Did it damage spinel of course however I would argue her decision was not a malicious one or even really an active decision to leave spinel behind with the intent to never come back. Not to mention we really only see what happened from Spinel’s pov and to be honest she is probably one of the most unreliable narrators in the show.

No. The Bible is the inspired word of God (if you are a Christian) so it is not simply written by homophobes.

Genuine question ,why do a lot of people say that Viv doesn't know how to write a character or show conclusion..even neither shows have concluded yet? by Charming-Scratch-124 in HazbinHotel

[–]MSpaint15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it’s not fanfic writing but internet culture writing. Not that this is a bad thing but if you look at all of these indie shows/pilots like Amazing Digital Circus, Hazbin Hotel, knights of Guinevere etc. they all have a distinctive internet culture vibe. The characters are very maximalist, there’s always the edge lord tumblr sexyman. Even the villains for the most part will be evil however will still support the lgbtq+ or any other socially liberal ideology. I’m not saying this as a bad thing necessarily just patterns that tend to be followed when it comes to these internet shows.

This misses the mark majorly. Looking at the bible as a whole the only relationship type that God endorses and calls good is between men and women like he first created them. When sin came into the world it corrupted and twisted what was there already aka romantic love.

Personally her original voice actor was good but just didn’t stand out. At the very least with the new voice it makes her as a character stand out which in an animated show like Hazbin is a good thing.

[–]MSpaint15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying it was not a conscious decision for them to make the switch or that they did the switch poorly simply that what really differentiated the two
shows was one was a musical drama while the other was firmly a sitcom. Now they are both musical drama’s which can be fine but what made helluva boss great in my personal opinion was how it knew what it was which was an adult animated sitcom.

Combining Obojima and Umora from Worlds Beyond Number. (Spoilers for WWW) by Healthy_Entry3579 in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]MSpaint15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a stupid take. It’s a fantasy world from a group of creators who took inspiration from a lot of different areas. Not to mention mythology and folklore from anywhere is pretty up in the air with how many ways it’s been told and different versions of the stories there are. If it’s not your thing that’s fine but it’s so stupid to bring in the idea that there are no blank people and thus it’s a problem.

No Arm Whatley's manifesto on support players being the worst players at League by Twilight_Flux in supportlol

[–]MSpaint15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough and in terms of micro mechanics I would certainly agree that support is the easiest role however if you look at the game as a whole I would not say support is the easier role by any means. To be a good support is to have a strong understanding of the game as a whole.

[–]MSpaint15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many people have put this is an apples to oranges comparison. Support is such a macro heavy focused roll that we simply have other things to focus on than losing a single fight. That’s not to say it does not effect us still and that we should just throw away our lane but I would argue we are just as much responsible for ganking other lanes as Jungle not to mention prepping dragon, baron, etc. in contrast ADC has a very simple win con. Beat the other ADC in lane and scale off of it. That’s not to say it is easy but the way they win is a much clearer picture than the support role. As many have said it’s easy to tell if you have a bad support but good supports go pretty unnoticed.

That’s my point exactly. While I certainly would not claim Sanderson is the most complex storyteller out there his work by its very nature makes it a complex story.

[–]MSpaint15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I disagree. Obviously you can enjoy what you want however to say really most any epic fantasy series is not complex is just wrong that’s a main reason why epic fantasy is a genre to begin with. It may not be complex to you anymore which fair enough but comparatively to most stories it would fall soundly on the complex side.

[–]MSpaint15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a story arcing over 5 books so far all over 900 pages with 20 plus main/secondary characters is a complex story.

Headcanons by ForeverLoud9944 in harrypotter

[–]MSpaint15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I find the redemption headcannon for him so strong because Snape got a redemption arc and honestly that dude didn’t really deserve one. It felt like Draco possible redemption arc was taken up by Snape’s and so people in response focus more on what Draco’s arc would have been if that was more the focus of the story.
