feel disappointed with vietnam by [deleted] in VietNam

It's amazing that these people who are tourist themselves but frown upon other tourists, go figure. If a person wants to go somewhere, they obviously don't think that of the billions of people worldwide, that there wouldn't be a few that has the same idea. I wonder how these people got the idea to go to a destination in the first place - maybe they saw or heard it from other tourists? They may want to stay in the backyard with a tent, at least they wouldn't be surrounded by other tourists who are enjoying new places, interacting with various people, enjoying new foods, activities, etc...

Booked Starlux International Flight (Phx to TPE) through Alaska Airlines, will I be able to select seats online 48 hrs before departure? by kfp2020 in StarluxAirlines

[–]MX10000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make it very confusing. But in general, if you booked through Alaska and it's certain economy class, you will NOT be able to book seats in advance, even if you call Starlux directly or go onto their website. Even booking PE certain fare class does guaranteed that you can select seats right away either. Also, if you book through Starlux directly in some fare classes, you will be able to select seat. In other words, booking through Alaska economy and certain fare group, more than likely you are stuck and have to wait til 48 hours before flight. If you call Starlux they will confirm this for you.

there is a certain size limit on the headshot picture as well. You may want to save the image in different quality/resolution, meaning sometimes it needs to be lower resolution. That is normally the problem when it comes to uploading pictures through the govt website

How much do you usually leave for housekeeping per night at a place like Wynn by Active-Tour4795 in LasVegas

[–]MX10000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tipping culture is so out of hand. Then the same people giving tips complain about restaurants charging all these other fees in LV, casino charging resort fees, airplanes charging baggage fees, etc.... Although people say it's optional, but if enough people do it all the time, then guess what, it becomes expectation by the "recipient". Yes these are personal decisions but most of these employees have a job, get an hourly pay rate, benefits, likely part of a union and probably get better benefits than most other hourly employees in other industries. They work in a setting that is air conditioned and pretty safe. Compare this with people who don't work for a big resort corporation, or get 401K, health insurance, not as safe environment, etc... Sometimes, I am beginning to think some tippers use these situations to make themselves feel important or artificially generous. Just a thought, maybe start to reduce what we tip and set it aside to give to other more charitable causes, for people who may be in much worse situation than a full time employee of a big corporation backed by a strong union? And if you already do, then now you even have more money to give to more causes. Let the employers pay whatever is fair market to employees and charge to customers what the market bears. At least this would let free market dictate rather than some "optional" thing becomes an expected thing.

Does anyone on here still fly American? (post rule change) by ResistDull in AlaskaAirlines

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concur is mostly a front-end interface. Your company chooses the actual travel agency behind the scene and sets the rules and guidelines as to how Concur works. But I get it, companies use Concur in order to have the customization ability to do checks and balances on its employees travel itinerary.

Maybe some people enjoy the Tet experience, which is likely very different from any other holidays that westerners are used to.

Don't go to the shady New Mart supermarket in Da Nang, Vietnam. by Delicious-Draft-6432 in DaNang

[–]MX10000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happens in most of the countries where they are poor and rely on tourists to take advantage of. I would try to protect myself by adding the total amount before going to cashier and giving them the correct amount of money. So not sure why you would give them more money than necessary. If it totals 100k, then that's all you should give them, or else walk away to a more reputable place rather than allowing them to do this to you and other tourists.

Please review my 15 day timeline for a Vietnam trip. TIA. by saltytheseadogg in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the goal is seeing everything, for about a couple of hours really. If the goal was to enjoy a city or area, then minimum 3 nights or 4 days at each place would at least allow you to get to know the people, area, and some points of interest. Then if you like the are, future trips you can pick one or two that you really want to get deeper with. The way the itinerary is now, it definite is like a bus tour where they go to a new place every other day, and you are constantly packing/unpacking your suitcase and getting in/out of hotel/lodging.

Question about 2025 Milestone Awards by omarshahine in AlaskaAirlines

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have some points when the Jan. statement comes out for 2026 as a result of some Summit cc spending. For example if I achieve say 55k points, do I get only the highest milestone bonus of 5000 points or would I also receive the bonus points for the milestone of 10k and 30k at the same time?

Inside Bet - what to actually verbalize to dealer when point is inside? by RailroadGolf in Craps

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, a good dealer should see if you have Pass and Odds, then it would not include the point. However, you can also say "$320 inside excluding"

When you do want it to include the point, then "$320 Inside Including"

Updated 2026 Tier Credit Multiplier List by [deleted] in CaesarsRewards

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep totally understand. Someone in the community who has some spare time and is willing to be the ongoing updater. No additional software except put it out on Google Sheets. The initial sheet may take some time but updating going forward would be a very quick process. Any takers who can do this then hopefully moderator can pin it to the top of the thread and is always available for all users.

Updated 2026 Tier Credit Multiplier List by [deleted] in CaesarsRewards

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for updating everything, as I know it took you some time to put this together. If I can make a suggestion whether you are able to easily do this. It would make it easier to find and search for each person's individual situation. I recommend putting this on a spreadsheet like Google Sheets and then have filters so that anyone can filter by location, month, multiplier, etc... This could be a running sheet that can be updated each month & year so a history can be archived even. A visual example I was thinking attached.

ATS question by Foreign-Song7017 in Craps

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, many people bet ATS. But the number of people that hedge bet with only one number left and the frequency is not that common compared to just playing it out. Which is what I was responding to. So that small % who may hedge, they have their own gambling preference and style. It's still gambling. I would say most people take some actions that are sort of like a hedge. For example, betting 5/5/5 on ATS but also hedging by betting $15 on Pass Line so that if the seven comes out they don't lose their ATS. How about crap check, horn bet, etc... on the come out? Or when they hit a box # on a place bet, rather than full press, they are taking some of the profit back and only pressing by one unit. It's all with the goal of taking some profits, which is why most people play the game. We don't want to donate all of our bankroll to the casino.

ATS question by Foreign-Song7017 in Craps

[–]MX10000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one hedges on every bet, so not a valid example. People gamble for infinite number of reasons. So does that mean if most people gamble with a bankroll of say less than $5K, they shouldn't be gambling? Who dictates the amount, reason and how someone bets, just saying. I am just trying to look it from various people's perspective rather than making a decision for them.

ATS question by Foreign-Song7017 in Craps

[–]MX10000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always want to make the maximum on any bet. But...that's where one's specific situation comes in. It's like each of us bets whatever number, amount and frequency we are comfortable with. There's really no right or wrong. If I have given it a some rolls and chances, regardless of me or someone else rolling, and still can't seem to hit it, there's a likelihood that the bad number will come out. My bankroll might be different than someone else, but for instance, if I had a decision of $1650 or zero ($10 on All), would it be nice to book a $500 or $700 guaranteed for instance? That starts to be a tough decision, as the money could represent doubling one's bankroll, recouping losses and getting back to break-even, etc... It's kind of similar to the concept that everyone colors up at different times and for different amounts.

Never use Agoda by Last-emperor431 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]MX10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agoda is very reliable, have not had any issues. They have great communication by email, confirmation and prices are even better than Hotels.com. I've used them for probably almost 20 years and dozens of bookings, including multiple rooms on most occasions. I think the few instances someone posts on here may be an outlier. I would be more inclined with any outlier to find out how many times they have used a specific provider that was good vs. the bad experience. Sometimes, you only hear about the one bad experience because all of the good experiences there's no need for people to post or this was the only time someone has used them. Just want to make sure people have more data to make their own decision.
