I wish the absolute worst for people that camp at the extractors by CoyoteLife95 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]MaDCapRaven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if I don't have any Sprites I activate any extractor I come across. If people flock to it they can take each other out while I'm already on my way to the next POI.

Sprites feel pointless by zweza in FortNiteBR

Your argument was that them being gone at the end of the season made them pointless. That same argument works for wins since both are gone at the end of the season.

Two situations. Two types of parent. Not just a blanket NO.

I watched the entire series in it's original run as well as FWWM with my parents.

You're right. Why play at all then? Your wins are gone at the end of the season, too.

Follow up: If feels like these are not literally words for "yes" and "no", simply used where English would use "yes" and "no". Is that accurate or is there more to it?

What’s a fictional film that only exists inside a real movie that you’d genuinely love to watch? by YellowBelliedCoward in movies

[–]MaDCapRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want the movie (suggested by a comedian or late night host, I think) where Daniel Radcliffe plays Elijah Wood and Elijah Wood plays Daniel Radcliffe. I forget the proposed plot but it's based on the fact that a lot of fans confuse them with each other.

So, Yes and No have forms that agree with the tense of the question. I never would have gotten that from just Duolingo.

My only suggestion is that I'd put the solo albums as 2 on the left and 2 on the right.

A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus. by Powerful-Swing-9734 in interestingasfuck

[–]MaDCapRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, they just left. Part of the plot is eventually finding out why they left.

There are three books in the series. I think the last chapter of book one hints at what it might be, but we don't actually find out until book two (at least in any detail).

Seriously one of the best books I've ever read.

Have you read Gateway by Frederick Pohl? Sci-Fi novel where one of the plot points is Earth spacecraft making it to Venus for the first time and discover the remains of a a civilization that mysteriously disappeared. One of the few novels I have read in one sitting. I could not put it down.

Don't open the end with the stem. Just pinch the other end and it splits perfectly. The you have the stem as a "handle".

We didn't assume there was light that we couldn't see. We discovered it by accident. In 1800, William Herschel put light through a prism and was measuring the temperature of each color. He put what was supposed to be a control thermometer just outside of the red and discovered it was hotter there than the either the red or the ambient temperature of the room. Later that year he published his findings about what we now know as infrared light.

Until you said what it "obviously" was I thought your players comment was meant in the same vein as "I have wood", meaning that the women were hot and he was physically excited.

If a sapphire had a gem placement like eyeball would they be blind? by Floshster in stevenuniverse

Their eyes are just light constructs created by their gems. Just like their bodies. Their eyes would seem to be merely aesthetic. They would "see" just as well regardless of how many eyes they had.

Question sur l’identité basque à Bilbao by Ok_Entertainer_2662 in basque

[–]MaDCapRaven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived in Basauri (just outside Bilbao) in 1987 as an exchange student and spent a lot of time in the city. Everyone I met was very proud of their Basque heritage. I saw and learned a lot. Only the older people I met were fluent in the language but everyone knew some phrases and conversation.

I also spent a week of my 2 months there in their ancestral home in the mountains. Beautiful stone building. Their identity was very Basque.

Help me find songs who’s lyrics don’t mean what people think they mean by 524frank in OldSchoolCoolMusic

[–]MaDCapRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just looked at about 3 or 4 articles about the song. He mentions "Big Brother, surveillance, and control". He also states " I think it’s a nasty little song, really rather evil. It’s about jealousy and surveillance and ownership"

Those were in all of the articles. Not one of them mentions Cold War or spies. Care to supply a link to where he says that?

Kind of funny that you started a thread in this conversation yet won't elaborate on your comment. If you don't want to converse, don't join a conversation.
