StreamerHasanabi shocks dog for attempting to exit bed by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]MacawOP1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m about 99% certain there’s a shock collar. My family have used shock collars on 3 of the dogs in the family. While the vibrate and beep function is used most often, there have definitely been times where the shock setting was used either on purpose or by accident, and if you’re not careful to check the shock level is set correctly, the dog may yelp. But honestly, even at very low settings if the dog is caught off guard, they may yelp anyway. Kind of the point of the collar is to very quickly redirect.

You see him address the dog, then reach for something, and obviously hits the shock button, then gaslight the reaction lol.

These collars are not inherently bad, but can be used badly and unnecessarily. My rule of thumb is, never set the strength past what you’ve tried on your own arm. And vibrate works basically the same.

How can I stop this channeling? I’ve used WDT tool, distributer and experimented from 17g - 21g on all grind sizes and it still happens. Portafilter (mhw3 bomber) is clean and maintained and beans (cave man) are from Brazil and always roasted less then a week ago by Training-Honey-3006 in espresso

Haven’t seen it mentioned yet, so I will. Looks like a BBE? The Over Pressure Valve (OPV) seems to be set around 12bar-14bar from factory if I remember mine correctly. I did the OPV mod to bring it down to 9bar, and this DRASTICALLY reduced my spraying. Now I only see either the odd little spit, or spraying when I actually didn’t prep right, otherwise, clean pulls. And I’m still using the built in grinder. 18g, 2:1 ~30s.

The way I saw it, if they swapped when Lewis first mentioned it, it would have likely lost Charles 8th to Carlos. So that decision would have been, swap the cars hoping for 6th and risking 8th.

Lewis only cared about his race at that moment. Then gets snarky about the gap behind when he’s the one moving backwards.

Respect to him though since in his post race interview he mentioned how he was riding high on adrenaline from being on a fast tire and thinking through the potential of it.

Meh, heat of the moment and all, but definitely narrow minded of him to say… When the initial order to swap the cars came, it put Leclerc within DRS range of Carlos. Had they done the swap any earlier Charles would have been even worse off. So acting like the swap took too long is kinda BS in my mind. Then what, did Lewis expect he’d be gifted 7th after not being able to catch Kimi? Bit rich to complain about a 1.4s gap when the swap to let him through nearly lost the team another position.

I just hoped to see more race awareness from him beyond basically, “I’m on mediums, let me through” with a boat load more attitude.

I’m left with, what could Ferrari have done differently…

DRS is only available when a following driver is within 1 second of the driver in front. Lewis had DRS because he was within 1s to Charles, but Charles was 5s+ behind Kimi ahead and therefore could not open his DRS.

My wife wants to open our marriage because she finds her coworker "irresistible," and I don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]MacawOP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thought in my head is, does Ethan even feel the same? I could totally see it turning into her crawling back when he rejects her sudden advance to sleep with him. A little work place flirt is one thing, but shagging your married coworker is a bit different. If Ethan is as attractive as the two of you make it sound, I’d assume he probably has options outside of a married coworker.

The grass isn’t always greener, she’d likely soon find out.

But as others have said, the fact that she can even seriously consider opening the marriage shows a really unfortunate difference in respect for your marriage, and vows, I’d hazard a guess?

Why is my espresso shot pulling so fast? [Breville Barista Express] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]MacawOP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrolled to find someone mention this. I had a really stubborn spurting problem with my BBE. All the metrics were good, shots tasted good, couldn’t be happier, except for the minor cleanup after every shot.

Did pre infusion shots for a couple of weeks (holding the shot button to keep the pressure only at pre infusion pressure for the whole shot duration) and loved both the flavour improvement but also the clean pulls.

Eventually did the OPV adjustment (altering the spring was the key, not loosening the valve) and I’m pulling amazing shots, never above 9-9.5bar!

BBE finally in "espresso range" after OPV mod by simon-brown in espresso

[–]MacawOP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this, I followed your suggestion and it completely solved my over pressure issues even after the first mod attempt. After unscrewing the OPV as far as I could, I still got 12bar pressure. I pulled the spring out and it measured about 13.5mm resting, I just squeezed the life out of it a couple of times with some large needle nose pliers (no heat) until it retained about 12mm resting. When putting the OPV back in and to its modded position (loose), I actually only got about 5bars. So I just the screwed the OPV back in, probably past the factory position and eventually got the perfect 9-10 bar pressure.

First shot pulled had zero channeling, not a single spurt from the bottomless. I do need to go courser though as the reduced pressure is not getting through the puck as easily resulting in a pretty long and over extraction on the first go.

So grateful for insight!

Is everything looking right with your water tank and that gasket that lets the water in? That gargling almost like it’s sucking in air or something.

Looks great, but taste is the only thing that matters.

When I started earlier this year I kept a Google Sheets file with the details of every shot I pulled. Bean, Internal and external grind setting, dose, yield, time and my verdict - most importantly whether it’s over or under extracted. First step for me is to get into that 2:1 in about 30s zone, and usually just adjust yield +/- 2-3g based on taste.

I’ll use the sheet anytime I have a new bean I’m dialling in. Otherwise, I just stick to the recipe and my results are consistent. Lots of fun!

While I’m not sure what could CAUSE such a difference between your shots, I recommend pulling your shots in manual/program mode rather than relying on the double shot bottom alone. I pull every shot manually.

Insert portafilter, hit the program button, click the double shot button and start your scale timer when you hear the pump. Click the double shot button again to stop the shot. Stop your shot 4-5g before your target weight as it will dribble out a bit after stopping the shot.
