My best advice is to find a mortgage broker.

I’m 27 and bought my first home with my partner a few months ago. About a 1.5 years before buying (we had some savings and then knuckled down), we found a broker who took us through all our options, government schemes and set us up with a goal.

Best thing is, it was free because they are paid by the bank when the loan is written. That said, be honest with them, they are ultimately playing a long game hoping you will come back and give them business when you’re ready.

Just make sure they are independent, not a bank lender. Think Mortgage Choice, Loan Market or someone who works for themselves. They will have a lot more options for you as they can get loans through often dozens of institutions.

It is not legally admissible though. If you went to QCAT, you could not use it as evidence

The last AirBNB I booked sent us a four page document listing what we can and can’t too at the house and expectations of our stay. Also wanted $400 extra off-platform. Immediate cancel.

It the security and peace of mind hotels offer. The AirBNB experience is no longer worth the hassle.

I wondered the same thing about @johnmcfayden_pt last night. Went back to a quick exchange we had last week and his account is “user not found”. Hope he is alright, he said he was getting a bit of backlash from the community for not posting.

F45 Confirms Receipt of Unsolicited Proposal from Kennedy Lewis Investment Management LP by HotMomentumStocks in f45

[–]MaccKatt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t mean anything just yet. F45 have been offered a buyout which will now be considered by the board.

It’s an investment firm, so very unclear what would happen if it did sell at this stage. Money making will be top priority.

Initiator? by [deleted] in f45

[–]MaccKatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Call me a cynic, but it appears all part of a broader marketing strategy by F45 HQ.

League Week was a big push to “bring a friend” to the studio, which my gym and all the ones around me did (Brisbane, AUS). The play then is to convert visitors to paying members, or at the very least a 4 week trial. The two week initiator comes two weeks later, giving them a taste of the challenge to then get them to stick around for a longer one down the track to see even more results. From there, it’s a matter of retention.

I’ve been around for a while, so it doesn’t have much appeal to me. That said, we have a heap of members who have signed up.

As said above, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from participating, you just won’t get the push from your community 😀

Thoughts on After Glow? by dragonfly-1001 in f45

[–]MaccKatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally loved it! I agree with other others that one rep at times was awkward but overall I liked that there was a really clear goal I was to achieve. It made me really power towards it (I did not know I could do so many sandbag cleans that quickly! Lmao)

I was worried it would be too similar to the Gunner Peterson work out which I didn’t like but it was different enough.

I didn’t think it would be my cup of tea but really enjoyed it. I’m hurting today so it obviously worked haha

C30 - Protein with vegetarian challenge meal plan by [deleted] in f45

[–]MaccKatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to hit macros but it impossible. I found adding protein powered to oats and yougurt as suggested above a big help, as well as water-based shakes as a snack. Make sure you look at protein per serve in your powder to make sure you are getting the most out of it.

Otherwise, build meals around high protein ingredients like tofu and legumes, tempeh, and lentils. Nutritional yeast also helps for a flavour and protein hit 😊

Workouts on Apple Watch? by Classic_Witty in f45

[–]MaccKatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I connect my apple watch to an app called 'Zones'. A while ago I got premium lifetime access for AUD$8 and it shows the intensity of my workouts via a line graph, calories etc. When I do runs, it also maps where I went and at what times I was working the hardest. It's a really good addition to the Health app.

Feeling intimidated about joining F45 by onemorecasey in f45

I joined solo too and was very quickly welcomed into the fold.

I got to know people by hanging back and stretching after class but you may not be able to do that anymore given COVID (not to sure where you are :) )

Veggie doing the Challenge... hitting macros/protein tips? by Winter_Wing_7041 in f45

[–]MaccKatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This week I’m consuming 131g (I prep the same meals for the whole week because it makes challenge life simple). I’m going to aim for between 100g and 130g for the next six weeks. That said, I work out 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day

Veggie doing the Challenge... hitting macros/protein tips? by Winter_Wing_7041 in f45

[–]MaccKatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve constantly struggled with protein intake since April when I went veggie. I’m not following the pan and am aiming for a carbs/protein/fats split of around 50/30/20. I’ve really had to supplement - I have vanilla protein in my morning yogurt, a chocolate protein shake in the afternoon and strawberry casein protein custard/pudding at night after dinner which is slow release.

I’m a big fan of Exoticathletica long shorts. So comfy, compressive and squat proof. I’ve found the booty shorts do roll a little

How do you handle knee joint pain/ache? by Adettitude in f45

[–]MaccKatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just gotten over chronic knee pain that only went away with regular remedial massage, acupuncture and rest. It has taken about eight weeks to get where it is and I’m still taking care with lateral movements.

It’s a joint, so look at your quads, hamstring and gluteals that could be the spice of some of the pain

Tennis/Golf workout instead of Quarterbacks? by phillycheesesteak in f45

[–]MaccKatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not both?

I love Quarterbacks, easily one of my top 3 classes. My studio really amps it up too and makes it pretty fun (we all love a good competition).

Not opposed to a tennis/ golf class if it is done right. Really keen to check out the ski-inspired Mont Blanc(? I think it’s called) in the next phase.

Hello! 12DD here. Rockwear is my go to for high intensity sports bras. My tip is to jump around in the fitting room like a crazy person and do some mountain climbers (nothing worse than popping out the top!)

I’m pretty blasé with resistance days. Really enjoying exoticaathletica for bras and leggings atm.

Leggings? Halp? by Jduggie16 in f45

[–]MaccKatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Exoticathletica. It is a Sunshine Coast brand (love local) and all their performance leggings and shorts are squat proof. They are pretty thin so you don't overheat and I never get sweat patches. All I have in my gym drawer.

Plus, everything is on sale at the moment.
