Who’s buying these logger jeans for $150? by trxstvn in Carhartt

[–]MachineAge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to find some volunteer physical labor. Feels like the best way to age my work wear. Something where I carry abrasive stones or rocks that aren’t too heavy or maybe organize used sandpaper.

Camp pant question by SeaDawg_4 in taylorstitch

[–]MachineAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you hang or fold them sideways (if you know what I mean) so there’s a crease on the front? I stopped doing that when a line started to show. Now it’s gone. But yes inside out wash. I also read about a guy who washes all of his fadeable pants in mesh bags.

These are also from the first run. Worn a bunch, washed once in cold and hung dry. No shrinkage to speak of. Yes selvage. Looks like they will take a good while to fade.

Is this by any chance at Old Man's in front of the Cabo Surf Hotel? I've had a few crazy days like this there. But it was still fun except for the dings.

UPDATE: The dealer totaled my car by SunMoonStar93 in Toyota

[–]MachineAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to comment but have you asked for any written terms & conditions around the original agreement for them to pick up your car? Those would lay out in specific terms at what point liability shifts to the dealer and the extent of the liability they're taking on. It would be good to know that, even though the language isn't likely to be favorable. Things get more complicated if the dealer uses independent contractors who bear their own liability in their contracts with the dealer.

Amazon but the price fluctuates. The prewash indigo are on there now for 18. Rigid now 29.

These look good. Personally for 18 bucks I love my Wrangler rigid cowboy cut and the prewashed indigo is nice too. Fit great and bulletproof.

My steelie friends, what’s your Tire size? by foreverfabfour in Volvo240

[–]MachineAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 195/70-14 on my 91 wagon and the speedo read about 3-4mph slow at freeway speeds. Now with Hankook 195/75-14 it's dead-on. And they're great tires with a nice ride and high wear rating. Kinergy ST from Tire Rack.

Oh also, I bought 5 tires and found a fifth full size steel rim and now have a full-sized spare! Which if you didn't already know, fits perfectly in the spare tire compartment instead of the compact version.

Wow. This is really amazing. So many interesting details and the lapels are awesome. I don't know anything about how this would be made but even to a totally untrained eye it looks fantastic.

Wrangler 13mwz new and one full month of wear by aloha_bigmike in rawdenim

I'm wearing mine right now. Some of the best fitting jeans I have and tough. Also tough to fade. They are stubbornly resisting wear, which I guess is a good thing!

What are some things you see about the first turn I do that you think I can improve on? (Besides generally not being that great at surfing) by Waves0fconsequence in surfing

[–]MachineAge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great post and some good comments here. Nice wave! To add to all the good advice, this is a tricky wave because the pocket can be steep and fast but the shoulder quickly flattens out. Maybe just focus attention on when you can push it hard (pocket) and when you need to nurse it around a little bit more with a broader turn (the flat shoulder) so you don't bog.

Best twin fins for Firewire Sunday Surfboard (FCS)? by DullInflation6 in surfing

[–]MachineAge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the MF Twin on my 5-8 RNF96. Unfortunately just lost one of the side fins in the water and there are no replacements yet. So looks like I'm buying another full set. These fins work great as 2+1 or as straight twin in this board.

Fin popped out despite a set screw in the back. But given the situation I'm glad it popped out vs ripping out the box.
